We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamar Gamliel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamar, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
The most important thing I’ve done as a single-parent entrepreneur is to keep an open and honest dialogue with my kids. I share my wins, losses, fears, and goals with them in age-appropriate ways. I let them know that I’m living my dream by working in a career I love—but that some days can feel too overwhelming. And I remind them that even the toughest days will pass if you stay calm and focused on the overall achievements.

I’ve explained that not everyone is meant to be a business owner—when you’re the boss, everything falls on you. But you also get to be creative and build something meaningful from the ground up. I tell them that I’m helping the world, one person at a time, by teaching people healthy habits and lifestyles—because when you teach one person, you have the potential to influence an entire community.

I don’t know if my kids will pursue careers in health, but by being open and authentic with them, I hope I’m expanding their imaginations and showing them that it’s possible to create a life and career you truly love.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from other chiropractors—according to my patients—is the combination of hands-on Active Release Techniques (ART), personalized attention, and custom strength and conditioning protocols I design for each individual. My background as a former collegiate cross-country and track athlete, competitive runner, and a Physiology graduate from UCSB inspired me to bring the same high-level care that elite athletes receive to everyday people.

Over the years, I’ve realized that peak physical performance isn’t enough when the mind is burdened by stress or unresolved trauma. That’s why I’ve recently expanded my practice to include breathwork and meditation. I now host breathwork workshops designed to help people release stored emotional trauma, and this has become a powerful complement to the physical work I do. The results have been transformative—people are healing not just physically, but holistically.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that the cookie-cutter model simply didn’t work for me. As a petite female chiropractor, I found that the protocols designed by and for larger male practitioners didn’t suit my style or strengths. That frustration became the catalyst for innovation. I realized I needed to create my own path, and that’s how The Chiropractic Lab was born—a place where I integrate ART, chiropractic adjustments, functional rehab, nutrition, and now, breathwork and meditation.

I want the world to know that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. I’ve built a practice that’s creative, intuitive, evidence-based, and deeply personal. My mission is to help people feel better—faster—and empower them with tools to stay healthy for life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If money were no object, I’d show them some of my favorite spots in LA. We’d catch a concert under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl, spend a sunny afternoon at Hermosa Beach, and enjoy dinner at Sushi Roku or a gourmet burger at Hopdoddy. For coffee, we’d stop by Urth Caffé, then go for a scenic run through the trails of Palos Verdes. We’d do some shopping on Melrose and finish it all off with a relaxing spa day at the Korean Spa in Torrance.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a huge shoutout to the patients who came to see me in my early days as a chiropractor. I was still finding my footing—and learning a lot through their bodies (don’t worry, no one got hurt!). Their trust gave me the space to grow into the practitioner I am today.

I also feel incredibly lucky to have met Dr. Michael Tebo. He offered me a room to rent when life hit me all at once—losing both my parents, my husband out of work, pregnant with my second child, navigating through Covid, and eventually going through a divorce. Yes, in that order. Through those five incredibly tough years, Dr. Tebo was there, offering support and charging me a rent I could actually manage. That kind of generosity quite literally saved me.

Thanks to those early believers and that helping hand, I’m now back on my feet—and the happiest I’ve ever been.
