We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Teel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own business was about freedom—creative, personal, and professional. After 10 years of working within the constraints of traditional salons, I realized I had outgrown those walls. I needed a space that reflected me—my vision, my edge, my energy. I didn’t want to blend in. I wanted to break the mold, to offer something raw, real, and elevated all at once.

My thought process was rooted in the belief that I could create something powerful—where luxury meets authenticity, where clients don’t just get a service, but an experience that transforms them. I wanted to bring bold, skillful color and healing hair treatments into one cohesive brand that showcases not only my talent, but also my beliefs, creativity, and that little spark of spunk that sets me apart.

It was about building a platform where I could thrive while helping others feel beautiful, confident, and seen. I took the leap because I knew I wasn’t meant to play small—I was meant to lead, evolve, and rise to the top.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart is the way I merge high-level technique with deep emotional connection. I don’t just apply color—I create a personalized experience that makes every client feel truly seen. I specialize in blondes and brunettes, crafting multi-dimensional, radiant tones that are bold, elevated, and intentional.

I’m most proud of the reputation I’ve built through authenticity, consistency, and care. Recently, being published in my fourth magazine was one of the most validating moments of my career. It reminded me that all the hustle, heart, and risk were worth it. I’m excited for what’s next—expanding into my own product line, scaling my space, and continuing to deliver beauty that breathes.

Nothing about this path was easy. I’ve been doing hair for over 16 years, and every step forward came from grit and self-discipline. I started from the ground up—working barbershops, renting chairs, working two jobs just to build my clientele. I invested heavily in education and constantly pushed myself to evolve.

COVID was one of my biggest challenges—it nearly broke both my business and my spirit. But instead, it lit a fire in me. I rebuilt everything from the inside out and launched Rebelle Hair Haus from a place of clarity, purpose, and truth. That chapter taught me that sometimes, breaking down is the first step to building something even greater.

I’ve learned that growth lives outside your comfort zone. You have to bet on yourself—even when no one else can see your vision yet. I’ve learned that success isn’t just about talent—it’s about consistency, connection, and the energy you bring into a room.

I’ve also realized that real beauty begins with listening. When you slow down and truly hear what someone wants, that’s when the magic happens. I’ve learned how to blend luxury with care, boldness with softness, and create a space where people feel safe, celebrated, and empowered.

I want the world to know that Rebelle Hair Haus is a love letter to individuality, strength, and self-expression. This brand is rooted in resilience and built on the belief that beauty isn’t created—it’s revealed. Everything I do—from color to scalp treatments to the smallest details—is done with intention and heart.

To me, natural means effortless luxury. It’s confidence that doesn’t need to shout. It’s softness with power. My space is a reflection of who I am: bold, refined, real, and a little rebellious. Clients don’t just come for a service—they come for an experience. One where they feel renewed, radiant, and completely themselves.

This isn’t just about hair. It’s about transformation. And I’m here to change the game.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my bestie was visiting for the week, I’d roll out the ultimate SoCal experience—equal parts glam, chill, and a little bit wild. We’d kick things off with brunch on Belmont Shore in Long Beach, then take a sunny stroll down Main Street in Huntington Beach for some surfy vibes, shopping, and people-watching.

Next up: Abbot Kinney in Venice for boutique browsing, street art selfies, and that must-have mimosas on the boardwalk. Then we’d swing over to LA for a classic tour of the stars’ homes (because who doesn’t want to see where Rihanna parks?), catch a Lakers or Dodgers game, and sip rooftop cocktails before diving into a pool party at The Standard.

Evenings would include dinner at Joey’s or Boa in Manhattan Beach, with that ocean breeze and glam energy setting the mood. Of course, no trip is complete without shopping on Melrose, because let’s be honest—we came to serve.

Midweek, we’d head to Palm Springs to soak up the sun, cruise in golf carts like desert royalty, and flirt with fortune at the casinos. To cap things off, we’d cruise down to San Diego for fish tacos in La Jolla, beach vibes in Coronado, and a little Gaslamp District nightlife for the memories.

And throughout it all? Glam moments at Rebelle Hair Haus, playlists on blast, good vibes only, and main-character energy every step of the way. That’s the real SoCal experience—sun, soul, and just the right amount of sparkle.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give the deepest love and gratitude to my closest friends, my incredible boyfriend, and my family. You’ve been my lifeline—my grounding force and biggest cheerleaders. Through every late night, bold risk, and moment of doubt, you’ve held space for me to grow, reminded me of my worth, and encouraged me to be nothing less than my truest, most authentic self. Because of you, my soul shines louder, and I thrive with purpose. I couldn’t do this without you.
