We had the good fortune of connecting with Marti Stone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marti, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Creating something out of nothing makes me happy! When it feels honest and spontaneous.
I love turning chaos, stress and feelings into music, visuals or words that resonate with someone else.
I’m also happy when I’m surrounded by people who get it and inspire me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always felt like an outsider — and that became my superpower.
I blend genres like rap, electro-pop, trap, drum and bass and experimental sounds with Italian lyrics full of technique, irony and duality.
I write songs, produce music, direct visuals, design my covers. I care about my aesthetics and storytelling.
My voice claims space and doesn’t ask for permission, especially in a scene that’s often too male, too polished, or too afraid to say uncomfortable things.
I’ve been underestimated a lot or asked to be “more commercial” too many times. But I chose to build my own lane instead of fitting in someone else’s. I kept learning, evolving, collaborating, and showing up even when no one was clapping yet. Longevity comes from authenticity. People can feel when something is real.
I’m not here to follow trends. I’m here to leave a raw, vibrant, and unapologetic mark.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to LA for a week, I wouldn’t plan a perfect itinerary, I’d plan a mood. Something between creative chaos and deep connection, that’s what LA is about for me. Every time I land here, it feels like jumping into another dimension of myself. I’d want them to feel that shift too: the energy, the openness, the constant friction between dreams and hustle.

We’d visit some museums, like The Broad. Then I’d take them for a spritz at Capri, a cool spot with a cool Italian vibe. I’d make sure they experience LA’s urban heartbeat by riding the metro just to hear people talk, watch the city roll by, and catch its unfiltered vibe. We’d grab a few beers at Harvard & Stone, a chill spot with an old-school vibe and a super cozy atmosphere.

Some days would be full-on: warehouse parties, DIY shows, strangers turning into collaborators. Others would be quiet and grounding, talks and walks by the ocean, journaling in the hills, or an aperitivo at the Getty Center with its stunning views.

For lunch, I’d bring them to Manuela in the Arts District. A perfect blend of creativity and good food. And of course, we’d hit karaoke in K-Town after Korean BBQ. Venice Ale House is also delicious for burgers. Kavat Coffee for Armenian coffee, one of my favourite!

We’d escape to the desert, Joshua Tree, because the silence out there resets everything. There’s something powerful about being left alone on your own path with nothing but space and your thoughts. But I also enjoy having dinner at the Saloon — a cozy spot where the vibe feels like home.

The truth is, in LA you don’t have to look too hard, if you know how to watch, the city offers everything you need.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve walked a pretty independent path building things from scratch, but I’ve never done it completely alone.
First, a huge shoutout to the artists who saw me before the industry did — the ones who invited me into studios, onto stages like Ackeejuice Rockers, Lorenzo Jovanotti, Piotta and more

I’m also deeply thankful to every listener, both the day ones and the new ones who just tapped in. Last but not least, the part of me that never gave up. She deserves a shoutout too.
