We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Cox Lucca and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christina, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Most people see the beautiful final product — the perfect wedding, the stunning florals, the magical ambiance — but what they don’t see is the emotional, mental, and spiritual labor it takes to get there. As a planner, designer, and florist, I’m not just executing a vision. I’m holding space for people during some of the most emotionally intense moments of their lives.

One example that stands out is a wedding I planned for a couple navigating deep family tension. The bride’s mother had passed away, and emotions were running high. Just moments before the ceremony, the bride broke down in tears, overwhelmed with grief and anxiety. I stepped in quietly, took her hand, prayed with her, grounded her energy, and helped her breathe again. Then I tucked a small locket with her mom’s photo into her bouquet — a detail we hadn’t planned, but one I knew she needed. That moment of connection wasn’t about décor or timing — it was about intuition, empathy, and heart.

Outsiders often think this job is glamorous or just about “making things pretty.” But the truth is, this work is deeply spiritual. It’s about managing chaos with grace, reading a room before it falls apart, and being the steady presence when people are too overwhelmed to think clearly.

What I do at CC’s Celebrations & More goes far beyond planning — it’s soul work disguised as logistics.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art lives in the details — in the petals, the palettes, the placements, the quiet moments between the chaos. Whether it’s a cascading bridal bouquet, a ceremony arch, or an entire event design, my art is about telling a story through texture, color, and emotion. I see florals and event design as living, breathing forms of expression — where beauty meets intention.

What sets my work apart is that I don’t create from a trend board — I create from the heart of the client. Every floral arrangement, every design concept, is built around their energy, their love story, their culture, or their journey. I believe flowers carry frequency. Design sets the tone. When those things align, you don’t just “see” beauty — you feel it.

I’m most proud of how deeply personal my work is. Clients often say, “This is exactly what I envisioned — but even better.” That’s the magic for me. I don’t just replicate ideas — I elevate them. I infuse every event with soul, sophistication, and a sense of presence.

But getting here wasn’t easy.

I didn’t come from a background of luxury or connections — I built this business and honed my craft through trial, error, passion, and persistence. There were moments I felt overlooked, underpaid, and overwhelmed. Times I was underestimated because I didn’t fit a certain mold. But I kept going. I learned to own my voice, refine my eye, and charge what my art is worth.

The biggest lesson? Authenticity wins. When you stay true to your style, your values, and your vision — you’ll attract the clients and opportunities that are aligned.

Today, I’m not just a florist or a planner — I’m an artist who creates experiences. I design with spirit. I lead with heart. And I build spaces that are not only beautiful — but healing, sacred, and unforgettable.

What I want the world to know is this:
CC’s Celebrations & More isn’t just a business. It’s a vessel for creativity, connection, and celebration. And through my art, I’m here to honor the beauty of life — one bloom, one moment, one event at a time.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d take them on a journey through some of Southern California’s most iconic and inspiring spots — a mix of desert cool, coastal beauty, and laid-back luxury, all with incredible food and unforgettable vibes.

Day 1: Welcome to Palm Springs
We’d kick off the trip with a drive into Palm Springs—iconic mid-century modern architecture, poolside lounges, and mountain views. After settling in, I’d take them to Cheeky’s for brunch — the bacon flight is a must-try. The afternoon would be spent exploring the boutique shops and art galleries downtown. Dinner at Workshop Kitchen + Bar for elevated, seasonal fare in an industrial-chic setting.

Day 2: Desert Adventure & Zen
Morning hike in Joshua Tree National Park to soak in the otherworldly desert landscapes and unique flora. Then, a relaxed lunch at Crossroads Cafe in Joshua Tree town for a local vibe. Back in Palm Springs, we’d wind down with a sunset soak at a spa or a quiet moment at the Moorten Botanical Garden to appreciate desert plants and tranquility.

Day 3: Poolside & Vibes
A slow morning lounging by the pool at a stylish boutique hotel like The Parker Palm Springs, followed by lunch at their famed Norma’s. Afternoon visit to El Paseo Shopping District for designer finds and art. Dinner at Eight4Nine for a trendy, eclectic atmosphere and fresh, modern dishes.

Day 4: Coastal Beauty in Newport Beach
Drive to Newport Beach and start with a stroll along the Balboa Peninsula. Lunch at The Beachcomber Cafe right on the sand for fresh seafood and ocean views. Spend the afternoon paddleboarding or just relaxing on the beach. Dinner at the Crystal Cove Shake Shack — no, wait—actually at the Beachcomber at Crystal Cove — a charming oceanfront spot with elevated coastal cuisine and a view that feels like a movie set.

Day 5: Art & Local Flavor
Start the day with coffee and pastries at a local favorite like Portola Coffee Lab in Costa Mesa, then head to the Orange County Museum of Art for a dose of contemporary inspiration. Afternoon wine tasting at San Antonio Winery or a craft brewery tour nearby. Evening cocktails and small plates at The Cannery in Newport Beach for a lively, yet relaxed scene.

Day 6: Joshua Tree Night Skies & Magic
Back to Joshua Tree for an afternoon of exploring unique shops like Joshua Tree Coffee Company and the quirky art scene. Dinner at Pappy & Harriet’s in nearby Pioneertown—legendary for live music and an authentic desert vibe. End the night star-gazing—Joshua Tree’s dark skies make for a spiritual and unforgettable experience.

Day 7: Chill Coastal Wrap-Up
Final day in Newport Beach with brunch at Beachcombers overlooking the ocean at Crystal Cove, followed by a leisurely bike ride along the boardwalk. Finish with a sunset cocktail at Harborside Restaurant, soaking in harbor views and reflecting on the perfect balance of desert calm and ocean breeze that makes this part of California so special.

This itinerary is designed to blend the best of nature, style, and soulful connection — everything I love bringing to my events and coaching clients. It’s a mix of iconic, serene, and energetic moments that create lasting memories, just like a well-planned celebration should.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to several key forces that have helped shape both my life and this journey with CC’s Celebrations & More.

First and foremost, I give all glory to God — my anchor, my guide, and the One who continues to open doors no man can shut. My faith has carried me through every high and low, and it’s the foundation of how I lead, create, and serve.

Next, my incredible team — Samantha, Sandra, Michelle, and Gina. These women are the heartbeat behind the scenes. Their loyalty, creativity, and dedication are the reason our events shine the way they do. I may be the visionary, but they are the hands, hearts, and minds who help bring it all to life. Without them, CC’s wouldn’t be what it is today.

To my husband who at times is my right-hand helping load, make or helping me create for our clients. My family & friends, thank you for your endless support and love. To my mentors and coaches, thank you for challenging me to grow and step into the next level version of myself. And to every client who has trusted me with your milestone moments — your belief in my work is the greatest honor.

This journey is not just mine — it’s ours.
