We had the good fortune of connecting with Elica Atienza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elica, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work life balance is something that I have really improved over time.

This past year, I have made a conscious decision to slow down and realign with what truly matters — my personal growth, creative and professional goals, and the family and friends who bring value to my life. I have built a routine that allows space for every important part of who I am, from my work in health informatics and artist management, to self care, hobbies, and relationships.

Traveling frequently between Seattle and Los Angeles has also taught me to stay grounded while being adaptable. Whether I’m at a show, in a meeting, or spending time with loved ones, I’ve learned how to manage my energy and be fully present wherever I am.

I see balance as something flexible and ever changing. It’s not about getting everything “right” all the time, but rather staying in tune with myself and making choices that reflect where I am and what I need in the moment.

Improving my work life balance has had a huge impact on my overall well being. I feel like I am in a much healthier, more grounded place, and I am very proud of myself for this growth.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Right now, I work at the intersection of two very different worlds — healthcare and the music industry.

I graduated from the University of Washington in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics & Health Information Management, and I am currently pursuing a career in health informatics and data analysis. At the same time, I manage LCN! in his music career.

What sets me apart is that I am someone who can navigate clinical systems and patient data one day, and then plan a music release or live show the next. I find purpose in both paths, and I love being able to work across spaces that challenge and bring out different sides of who I am.

Graduating college is something that I am very proud of. I started out as a nursing student, but eventually switched to Health Informatics. Around the same time, I discovered a passion for artist management while supporting Elsian’s music career. The journey wasn’t easy, but it was a milestone that felt even more special because of everything it took to get there.

On the artist management side, one of my proudest moments was when Elsian signed to 88rising. That was a dream of his for years, and we also used to listen to artists like Joji back in high school, so being a part of that world now feels like full circle.

This past year has brought so many unexpected opportunities that I am very grateful for, and if there’s one thing I want people to take from my story, it’s that your path doesn’t have to be linear to be meaningful. You can change directions, start over, and still end up exactly where you’re meant to be.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would show them some of my favorite spots and take them to see some unforgettable views.

Something I love doing is watching the sunrise at Rocketship Park. Driving up the quiet neighborhood hills and watching the city slowly light up is such a peaceful way to start the day. The park overlooks the whole South Bay and being there just feels like a reset and that you’re above everything for a moment.

We would also spend some time at the beach. I like walking the strip from Hermosa Beach, or even biking the coast all the way to Santa Monica. I think that’s one of the best ways to take in the ocean and see LA from a different angle. Baldwin Hills is another go to of mine. It’s a quick but rewarding hike, and the view from the top is one of my favorites.

For food, we would go to Quarters for Korean BBQ. There’s also a karaoke bar nearby that we could hit up after. At night, I would take them to Spire 73. I love looking out at the city lights from the rooftop with good music and good company.

I would also dedicate a day to going to Universal Studios. I love seeing the minions and the new Super Nintendo World. The energy, rides, and overall vibes of Universal are the best, and a lot of my childhood favorites are there, so it’s always a fun and nostalgic experience.

LA has so many different sides to it. Some days are fast and full of energy, others are slow and quiet. That balance is what makes it so special. I’d want my best friend to get a little bit of both and see the city through my eyes, experiencing the mix of calm, chaos, and creativity that makes LA feel like a second home to me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d definitely give a shoutout to my younger brother, Elsian, who goes by the artist name “LCN!”.

Being Elsian’s manager has given me a whole new sense of purpose and this journey together has been one of the most meaningful and fulfilling parts of my life. I remember being kids and talking about how one day, Elsian would be a singer and I would be his manager, and now we’re actually doing that. It is so surreal to see the things we used to dream about actually come to life.

I am incredibly proud of everything we’ve built so far. The heart and effort behind it all is something really special and I am so excited for what’s still ahead!
