Meet Terme Hayempour | Hypnotherapist & Mindset Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Terme Hayempour and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terme, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson I’ve learned, both in life and in my career, is that success starts in the mind. You have to believe it’s possible, and even more importantly, believe that you’re worthy of it. Yes, hard work, timing, support, strategy, and even a bit of luck all play a role. But I’ve seen over and over again: you can have the perfect plan, the best tools, all the right opportunities and still sabotage it all if, deep down, you don’t believe you deserve the outcome. Your beliefs will always set the ceiling for what you’re able to achieve.

What should our readers know about your business?
I spent the majority of my professional career in tech sales. I was great at it—I’ve always loved connecting with people, and that skill translated well. But despite the success, it never felt fulfilling. I’d go through these cycles of burnout every few years, and each time I felt this deeper knowing: I’m meant for something more meaningful.
One of the things I’m most proud of is that I’ve always followed my gut, even when it didn’t make logical sense. I’ve made some pretty “risky” decisions—like quitting a high-paying job during a recession without another one lined up. But every time I trusted myself and the beliefs I held deep down, I ended up exactly where I was meant to be.
That trust is what ultimately led me to become a hypnotherapist. I now help people overcome subconscious blocks that are keeping them stuck, whether it’s a habit like smoking, self-sabotage in their career or relationships, or lingering fears that won’t budge no matter how much mindset work they do. My job is to help people become the happiest, most free versions of themselves and that never gets old.
Of course, the journey wasn’t always easy. There were moments I wanted to give up. When I thought, “WTF am I doing?” and seriously considered going back to sales, where I knew I could make great money and have stability. But then I’d remind myself: You didn’t come this far to live a life that looks good on paper but feels wrong in your body.
One of the biggest tools that helped me and that I now teach my clients is the power of language and self-talk. I talk to myself in the mirror constantly. I say things out loud like, ‘I am enough,’ ‘I have gifts to offer the world,’ or ‘I am an incredible hypnotherapist.’ It sounds silly at first, but it works. Your brain doesn’t know the difference between something real and something repeated.
So sometimes, being a little delusional can actually work in your favor. What I want people to know is: change is possible. You don’t have to settle or stay stuck. You can rewire your beliefs, feel better, and build a life that actually feels good to live. That’s what The Everyday Shift is all about—small, powerful shifts that change everything.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ooooh this is a tough one because I’m a bit of a homebody, unless I’m traveling out of town. Honestly, the best places to be are wherever my friends and family are. But since I live close to the beach in Santa Monica, that’s always the starting point. If the weather’s good (which it usually is), we’re definitely spending time at the beach. During the day, Big Dean’s is a must, it’s a laid-back outdoor sports bar right on the beach and always has a good vibe. If we’re with a group, renting a boat in the Marina is such a fun way to spend the afternoon. I love being by the water or on the water. Abbot Kinney is perfect for a no-agenda kind of day. There are tons of cute shops, coffee spots, and great people-watching, it’s one of my favorite streets to wander. For food, Carla Café is my go-to for breakfast or lunch. They started during COVID selling one sandwich out of their house and now they’re opening their second restaurant. The food is so good, and the story makes it even better. For dinner, I love Jon & Vinny’s for Italian, it’s delicious and has a cool, casual vibe. And Elephante is always a hit. It’s been around for a while, but I still love the food, the ocean views, and the cocktails. Perfect for sunset drinks.
The whole week would be a mix of beach time, good food, great convos, and probably a little bit of mirror pep talks (because yes, I even make my friends do affirmations with me sometimes).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents absolutely deserve a shoutout. Watching them struggle financially when I was younger lit a fire in me to create something different for myself. But more than that, they always supported me emotionally. They reminded me that I never had to stay stuck in anything that made me miserable, that there’s always another way to be successful, to pivot, and to create a life that feels aligned.
I also want to shout out my hypnotherapy teacher, Marisa Peer. I was following her work for years before I ever trained under her in Rapid Transformational Therapy® (the method of hypnotherapy I now do for my clients). Her teachings helped me through one of the hardest times in my life, and that healing journey is what ultimately led me to shift careers and step into the work I do today.
