Hi Steven, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
For me the most important factor is the four walls marketing. You really have to reach out to the customers to make the experience memorable. They need to leave the building with good memories and a good feeling. Got to go the extra yard when speaking to customers. You can get the same drinks same food and karaoke almost every where . What is going to make the experience different. You need to be engaged in the business. Its even hard for me to take a day off. I dont want to miss a person. You never know . At any moment any customer that is overwhelmed with good service and a fun night could bring a bigger group next time or telling their friends what a great spot to go to.

I have to say after 22 years of operating boaardwalk 11 I cant wait to get to work in the morning . Its just amazing how you feel when you have so much passion for your work. Obstacle come up every day in the bar business. staffing problems Companys running short on product. You just work through them every day. In the past few years since covid we have never fully recovered from loss of business I can honestly say the bar business will never be the same . People schedule have changed
peoples thinking has changed. The public has really cut back on going out and spending money on entertainment. But we make adjustments and move forward.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would say the n umber 1 fun thing to do is catch the boat and head to Catilina Island for the day
So much to see over their. Stop bye the Lobster Trap take a hummer tour of the island
Check out a show at the Greek Theater
Take a walk through old school Hollywood
Go down to the Santa Monica Pier at night time
The Observation bar on the queen Mary Good food and beautiful view

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to give all credit to Boardwalk 11 success to the foundation of customers. So grateful for the people that frequent my establishment. We are a entertainment venue and the customers provide the entertainment. beautiful people with great energy fill the room with passion and song every night of the week . without them their would be just a empty mic on stage.
I also met a extraordinary individual 15 years ago. I signed up for a live 5 hour seminar at the biltmore hotel in LA . His name is John Taffer .This was before he blew up on Tv reality show. Just a amazing speaker with endless amounts of passion for the bar and nightclub business. He is the real deal . Gave me some great tools an strategy for running a business. Most important he emphasized on not being afraid to fail. If a poduct or idea does not work try something new. Dig deeper and don’t give up.
