Meet Kvr. | Artist, Producer & DJ

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kvr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kvr., we’d love to hear about a book that’s had an impact on you.
E2 by Pam Grout changed my life!!! The book is 9 energy experiments to prove your thoughts create your reality. Think about the time you were about to get a new car and right before you got it, that’s the only car you see on the road. Thats the power of your mind. Whatever you think can be brought straight to reality. That’s why you have to be careful with your thoughts! This book makes you remember the power that lies within you that’s why it’s my favorite book and she’s my favorite author

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I’m most proud of is having an album I released 6 years ago still getting love. I’m proud to see the longevity in my art and know that’s it’s not just something that’s here today and gone tomorrow. I pour my soul into these songs and I’m happy it’s felt. Speaking of not releasing in 6 years, I’m excited to finally release my album Black Sun Rising, very soon!! For this project I blended my gospel and hip hop roots together to give you a spiritual experience. Stay tuned for the album as well as new singles! Before I go, the best lessons I can leave you with are, don’t stop and don’t worry what anyone thinks.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first stop is the dispensary! Then we’d go to Mendocino Farms to grab a few sandwiches and a big side of the curried couscous. After we grab the food we’d head down the PCH to a secluded beach area. Roll up a cigar, turn on the speaker and blast Black Sun Rising!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my parents, my family, God and most importantly myself. This creative journey isn’t easy and to still be here standing with all my limbs, a good heart and good head on my shoulders is a blessing. Shoutout to me for showing up all of those time I didn’t feel like it. I could have easily laid down and said I’ll do it tomorrow, but I’ve always known what I’m doing is bigger than me.
