Where are you from and how has it impacted you?

Even if you are from the same neighborhood as someone else, you might still be coming from different places. Where you are from is a complicated question and it elicits complicated, but interesting and thought-provoking responses. We’ve shared some of those responses below.

I’m originally from Havana, Cuba. Growing up in a third-world country deeply shaped the person I am today. Native to Maryland, also known as as the DMV metropolitan region has a huge impact on who I’ve become today. We are hard working creatives who always find a way to make our dreams come true. Growing up, I was always surrounded by creativity. Whether going to plays produced and directed by my grandma or taking walks around Washington, DC. I was surrounded by art, love and family.
