Meet TC Alexander | Comedian,Actor & CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with TC Alexander and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi TC, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was never part of the original plan. I never imagined becoming a business owner, let alone a filmmaker. Creating a production company that would go on to make movies wasn’t even on my radar. At that point in my career, I had already won awards in comedy and accomplished a lot in that space—but I hadn’t made a movie. I had filmed tons of content, but most of it was scattered across other people’s cameras and phones.
Then one Wednesday, I was sitting on my couch watching the LA news. Governor Gavin Newsom announced that California would reopen in June—it was April at the time. As I watched the press conference, my heart sank. I felt this deep, unsettling moment, and I prayed. I asked God, “Have I done everything I need to do to truly separate myself from the other comedians?” The answer came back clearly: “No.”
Right then, I made a decision. I said, “Alright, forget it—I’m going to make a movie.” I committed myself, studied the craft, tapped into my resources, and within months, the Alexander Performing Arts Company was born.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a comedian and actor with over 11 years in the entertainment industry. When I started, I gave myself a 10-year window to “make it”—and I hit that milestone in just 7 years. By then, I’d earned awards in comedy, toured nationally, and was part of a traveling comedy group that helped shape my voice and reach.
In 2021, everything shifted. My first feature film, produced through my own company, became a breakout success—ranking #3 and #4 on Amazon’s platform that year. It was distributed across 25 international platforms and has since been picked up for DVD release. I followed that with a second film in 2022, which also went global and is now available on major streaming platforms.
But the road wasn’t easy. I started my business in 2017 as a performing arts academy. When Governor Gavin Newsom announced California’s reopening, I pivoted—transforming the company into a full-fledged movie production house. That decision changed everything.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned? Bet on yourself. Stay adaptable. And never underestimate the power of reinvention. My story is proof that with vision, resilience, and a little audacity, you can carve your own lane in this industry.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wanna give a shout out to my VP of Video & Senior Editor Ken Jadekie! He has been with me since the beginning of my career in entertainment, which was 11 years ago. He filmed all of my sketch comedy and he’s watched me evolve into who I am now.
