Meet Annie Seaman | Travel Advisor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Annie Seaman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Annie, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success, to me, is based on a few different factors. First, and most importantly to me, is am I happy? If I genuinely like what I’m doing (it doesn’t have to be 100% of the time, but a majority of the time) and there are parts of my business that I LIKE doing, then that right there would be a huge win in my book.
Second, would be the satisfaction of my clients. If my clients refer me to their friends and family or even strangers, then I’m obviously doing something right. My main goal with my travel business, is to allow my clients to travel stress-free (as much as possible), and ENJOY their travels. Everyone should be able to do that, and that’s why I’m here. Getting positive reviews, text messages during travels, and even photos of smiling faces letting me know they’re having the best time….. that means everything to me.
And making some money along the way… if I can make money WHILE doing something I enjoy…. SUCCESS.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’ve been a travel advisor for over 5 years now, I really value and care about my clients, and do what I can to have the best possible communication with them. I have a lot of knowledge and experience, and have done a lot of training with brands that I may not be familiar with, so that I can support my clients to the best of my ability.
Some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way, are that I’m not going to be a fit for everyone. Not every person traveling or wanting to travel is going to be someone that I can work with, and that’s okay! That is probably one of the hardest things I’ve faced, because I just want to make sure everyone has the best time traveling.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If someone was visiting LA for the first time… of course I’d want to do some of the touristy things… because I love the cheesiness of it, and seeing it through their eyes for the first time too. But then I’d take them to some of my absolute favorite areas… The Getty is a huge one! I’ve been going there for 15+ years, I love the architecture, vibe, and views SO much. I’m speaking specifically if my Dad was visiting (because he’s never been here) for this one… Amoeba Music. I know he’d LOVE it (he’s a huge record/music guy) and I think we’d have the best time there.
I also always take everyone to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf… it’s a California staple IMO.
And then can’t miss The Grove! One of my fave spots to go when I have a free day myself, so just walk around, people watch, and do a little shopping.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Travelmation (my host agency). Our agents are by far the best people I’ve EVER had the pleasure of working with. We celebrate each other, we lift each other up, we encourage each other, but we also HELP each other. We don’t compete against each other, and it’s so incredibly refreshing to work with such amazing people.
And that also deserves a shoutout to our Founder – Adam Duckworth. If it wasn’t for his vision for this company, it may just have ended up like any other travel agency. But it’s not, our core values are what makes this agency HOME for me.
