We had the good fortune of connecting with DANNY APOLLO BRUCE and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DANNY APOLLO, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Two decades ago, I adopted two teenage boys with special needs. It wasn’t just about providing a home, putting a roof over their head and filling their bellies with food…it was about teaching them how to survive, by equipping them with the right tools, how to be accepted, and how to accelerate in a world that doesn’t always make room for differences. It wasn’t easy as Resilience was required on all sides. But today, those boys are men, strong, capable, and prepared to chase whatever dreams they choose. My proudest accomplishment isn’t building a business or working with high-profile clients. It’s watching these young men grow into solid adults while being their compass, teaching them that adversity doesn’t define you, how you respond does. That’s impact.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At my core, I’m a Human Performance & Resilience Coach. My business isn’t just about building stronger bodies, it’s about building stronger people. The difference is simple: I don’t train for aesthetics, I train for functionality, longevity, and adaptability. Whether I’m working with a Grammy winning artist, a world class athlete, or someone just trying to reclaim their health, the goal is the same: unlock their full capacity to move, perform, and live without limits. What sets me apart is the standard I hold myself to. In an industry where a lot of people chase clout or post every client session online, I’ve built my career on confidentiality and respect. I don’t name-drop, I don’t sell out my clients’ trust for likes and that respect has created a reputation that speaks louder than any marketing campaign ever could. I’m most proud of the impact I’ve had across different worlds from training Olympians and world champions, to helping artists perform at their peak, to teaching resilience through fitness to individuals with special needs. My path hasn’t been easy. There were setbacks, financial struggles, moments where doors closed on me. But I never saw those as reasons to quit; they were lessons in adaptation. Every obstacle forced me to sharpen my craft and expand my skillset. The biggest lessons I’ve learned? First, discipline beats motivation every time. Second, privacy and integrity will take you further than hype. And third, the real measure of success is how many lives you leave stronger than you found them. What do I want the world to know about me and my brand? That I’m not here to sell quick fixes or false promises. I’m here to build resilience in mind, body, and spirit. That’s the story, that’s the mission, and that’s what I’ll continue to do as long as I’m alive.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
What I do isn’t just about fitness, movement, or training, it’s about teaching people how to live with resilience. Every session, every client interaction is an opportunity to reinforce values: discipline, humility, consistency, and respect. These aren’t just “gym values”; they translate into how people carry themselves in the real world. When someone learns to control their body, they also learn to control their mind. That’s impact, it goes home with them, into their families, into their communities. The ripple effect is what excites me: healthier people make better leaders, better parents, and better neighbors.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
No success story is written alone, and mine is no different. First and foremost, I have to thank my family, the people who taught me resilience, faith, and the discipline to stay the course when life tests you. My personal relationships, the ones who see me outside the gym or the dance floor, deserve equal credit. They keep me grounded and remind me of the bigger picture. I owe a lot to my clients as well, their trust and commitment fuel my own growth. Every breakthrough I witness in them is a reminder of why I do this work. The salsa community deserves a special mention too. Salsa has been more than just a dance for me, it’s been therapy, connection, and a global family that teaches respect, humility, and joy with every step. And of course, a nod to Shoutout LA for reaching out and giving me a platform to share this journey. If I had to credit a book, The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith stands out. It’s a reminder that discipline, productivity, and value creation don’t just apply to economies, they apply to individuals. When you manage yourself like an economy, with purpose and efficiency, you start to see how far you can actually go.
