We had the good fortune of connecting with Eileen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eileen, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I was lucky to have an amazing father and amazing Uncles and Aunts on his side. I saw that their mother was tough and also loving. There were 9 kids in that old Irish family and they were not wealthy. Yet they were all such great fun people.
They respected differences and thats how I raised my daughter who is unique creative and a solid person with good values.
I let her be who she needed to be as long as she wasn’t hurting herself or others. I respected her style beliefs and ideas. Shes now finishing her Master’s Degree at University and creating her own path in life.
She found her fellow people who like alot of what she likes and respect her. I observe that she has always seemed to know who she is. She told me she has always felt loved and that helps her to make solid choices in life.
I spent alot of time with her over the years just sharing her interests and me sharing mine. Not cricizing her but just hanging out even when I was a poor mom we ate Mac and cheese and watched fun shows. People don’t realize they don’t want stuff…they want to know we want them…that we are there for them. Sometimes just a shared bike ride or playing ball is huge. It doesn’t cost money. It is just our time together. Not judging just sharing.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I run a social work company but also a company called Creators Road Studios. We help young artists and filmmakers create anything they want to. We try to help them to tell their stories and then give them a voice, passion and reason the get up every day. We built a small creative community in Covina Ca. They learn not only film and art but increase their social skills and gain more confidence in life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Downtown L.A. has alot of history if you know where to look. I love the ghost tours and historical speakeasys.
The beach is great too and you can meet pe I plenfrom all over the world.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My father, my Uncle and my husband have been solid men in my life.
My husband mentors young people without need for accolades or recognition. He had a hard life growing up but never lets it affect his ability to help and give to others young artists. His art is amazing and brilliant. He runs a studio to help.mentor young artists and filmmakers.
