Meet Crystal Aranda

We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Aranda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Crystal, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Firstly, I’m a firm believer that these ideas and plans we want to pursue are embedded in our brains for a reason. A lot of the times we’re blocked by fear of failure. When you’re passionate about your career or business, it’s portrayed through your work and the way you continue moving forward. It’s important to have your end goal in mind and envision what it is that you want out of your hard work. Each milestone you achieve is a stepping stone towards your end goal. Achieving those milestones should be the motivation and validation you need in order to continue your journey. That’s when you know you should keep going; when you’re grateful and fulfilled by every part of your path towards success. That is the proof that you’re right where you’re supposed to be.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It still shocks people when I tell them that I wasn’t really into painting or drawing before getting into nails. The art of expressing myself through 10 little canvases and people trusting me with that is so beautiful. The connections I’ve built with clients is what I think truly sets me apart. I think this is the most important part of my job, connecting with people. I truly enjoy getting to know others and providing a listening ear when it’s needed. Building a community with the people that support you and your business is so important. I love showing my gratitude to the people that believe in me.
It was definitely not easy getting to where I am today. It was a constant back and forth with myself about whether I deserved to be in this position or not. It was the imposter syndrome getting to me and I know a lot of entrepreneurs can relate. Once I started to accept that this was truly my life, that I deserved to be here because of all my hard work and dedication, the feeling of being an imposter in my field of work left my body. It truly is just a switch in our brains, we get to decide whether we want to believe in ourselves or not. So why not flip that switch? We have the ability to decide what we want for ourselves. We’re truly our greatest enemies, don’t let the doubtful side of you win!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
You definitely need to hit the beaches! Newport, Corona Del Mar, Laguna. If you don’t like the ocean or the sand, that’s alright, I guarantee beautiful viewpoints in all of these places! Try out Salty Horse in Newport if you’re a brunch lover! For my coffee lovers, go to Phin Smith in Garden Grove and try their banana coffee! And of course, you absolutely need to stop by Local Gem Collective in Orange, CA, the wonderful home to many businesses by successful and empowering women! Remember to say hi to Jasmin, the powerful holder of this gem!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to dedicate this shoutout to my brother and sister. And a thank you to my parents for raising us the way that they did. They always provide the best insight, especially being that they’re older. My sister being the one with great ideas that will help my career, and my brother being the one that shows me that we shouldn’t care about other’s negative opinions. My siblings are amazing role models, extremely hard working in their own ways. I’m truly blessed to have them. Their support through my nail journey has truly meant the world to me, and I’m so excited to continue sharing my efforts and accomplishments with them.
