Meet Maggie Ogboin | Licensed esthetician & Owner of Skin Solutions by Maggie

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maggie Ogboin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maggie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting Skin Solutions by Maggie came from my passion for skincare and wanting to create a space where clients truly feel seen, heard, and cared for. I’ve always believed skincare is more than just treatments, it’s about confidence, education, and helping people feel comfortable in their own skin. I wanted the freedom to customize treatments, use products I genuinely believe in, and give every client a results driven but relaxing experience. Building my own business has allowed me to create an environment where my clients aren’t just appointments on a schedule, they’re people I get to support on their skin journey. It’s become more than just skincare, it’s a space where we connect, support each other, and build real relationships.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Skin Solutions by Maggie was created from my passion for helping people feel confident in their own skin. My goal has always been to create a space where clients feel comfortable, cared for, and truly listened to. I focus on results driven treatments, but I also believe the experience matters just as much. I want every client who walks through my door to feel relaxed, educated about their skin, and confident in the journey we’re taking together.
What sets me apart is the level of care and intention I put into each treatment. No two clients are the same, so I take the time to understand their skin, their lifestyle, and their goals so we can create a plan that truly works for them. To me, skincare isn’t just about a service, it’s about building trust and long term relationships with the people who sit in my chair.
Getting to where I am today definitely wasn’t easy, and honestly I’m still growing and learning every single day. Starting your own business comes with a lot of challenges and moments of self doubt, especially in the beginning. There were times where I had to step outside of my comfort zone, trust myself, and keep going even when things felt uncertain. But those challenges are also what helped shape me and my business into what it is today.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way is the importance of believing in yourself and staying consistent, even when growth feels slow. Building something meaningful takes time, patience, and a lot of hard work. I’ve also learned how powerful it is to build real connections with clients. Many of the people who come to see me become more than just clients, they become part of the community I’m building.
What I want people to know about me and my brand is that Skin Solutions by Maggie is built on passion, authenticity, and genuine care for others. This business isn’t just about skincare treatments, it’s about helping people feel good about themselves and creating a space where they feel supported, welcomed, and confident in their skin.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I would definitely spend a lot of our time in Redlands, CA since that’s where my studio is located and where I spend so much of my time. It has such a cute, welcoming vibe and there are so many great spots to eat, relax, and explore.
We would start our mornings grabbing coffee at Roadrunner Café. It’s a great spot to sit, catch up, and ease into the day. After that we’d walk the streets of downtown Redlands and check out all the cute local shops. I love how charming the area feels and there’s always something new to see.
For brunch or lunch, I’d take them to The State. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is always lively. Another spot I love is Carolyn’s Cafe — they have the most to die for coffee cake and a cozy breakfast or brunch vibe that’s perfect for catching up.
Of course I’d also have to show them where I spend so much of my time, my studio, Skin Solutions by Maggie. I’d probably treat them to a facial so they could experience what I do and relax for a bit.
Overall, the best part about Redlands is the community. It’s full of amazing local businesses, great food, and a really welcoming energy. It’s the kind of place where you can spend the day exploring, eating good food, and just enjoying the atmosphere.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely wouldn’t be where I am without the people who believed in me and pushed me when I needed it most. My fiancé Gavin deserves so much credit because he was one of the people who truly encouraged me to take the leap and start my own business. When I was nervous or questioning myself, he reminded me that I was capable of building something of my own, and that support meant everything.
My best friend Adrian also plays a huge role in my story. I was actually the one who pushed us to go to esthetician school together, but our journey really started way before that back in high school. We went from giving each other facials in the bathroom just for fun to eventually becoming licensed estheticians and building careers in this industry. Along the way he became one of my biggest sources of encouragement. When it came time for me to step out on my own, he was right there pushing me to believe in myself and go for it. Having someone who understands this industry and believes in you the way he does is so special.
And of course my family. Their love, encouragement, and constant support have been the foundation for everything I’ve been able to do. Knowing I have people in my corner who are proud of me and cheering me on has given me the confidence to keep growing and building Skin Solutions by Maggie into something meaningful. None of this journey has been done alone, and I’m so grateful for every person who has poured into me along the way.
