Meet Jennifer (Jinnsi) Hoang | Food & Lifestyle Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer (Jinnsi) Hoang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer (Jinnsi), how do you define success?
Success is about more than just the end; it is also about the road one takes to get there. For a long time, I measured my own progress through numbers, such as followers, views, likes, and other metrics, and while that can still be important, I later learned that they constitute only one aspect of being a success.
The quote I would like to remind myself of is, “Everything is a win when the goal is to experience.” This attitude transformed the way I see projects and life as a whole. I no longer see failure as a mistake, but rather as an opportunity to learn. Everything is a success since it advances both my personal and artistic development.
Social media often encourages people to strive for excellence and compete with each other to achieve results. Therefore, people might become obsessed with outcomes, neglecting the processes themselves. Throughout my life, I have come to understand that some of the best moments happened not because of success but because of certain activities and experiences that shaped me creatively and personally.
At the same time, this view helped me stop worrying so much about my failures. Being engaged in the experience, it does not matter whether you fail or succeed. This mindset fosters curiosity and risk-taking because everything you experience and do shapes your personality.
Thus, my definition of success is living a life full of new experiences, connections, and work that brings enjoyment. It does mean that there should be some achievements too; however, the process itself is much more valuable for me than any outcomes.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One of the toughest things that I had to learn was how to overcome my own self-criticism. It might seem like creating content is simple and easy with a click of a button, but there is a lot of work behind each post–hours spent filming, going through footage, making edits, until finally deciding whether it is good enough to upload. This perfectionism sometimes took away all of the fun and enjoyment that was supposed to be fun to begin with.
Eventually, however, I understood that sometimes being a perfectionist does nothing good to creativity. I found that the posts I felt were “not good enough” often received the best feedback because they were truly authentic and genuine.
What differentiates my content from other social media content is that I strive to provide an experience rather than just visuals. Whether I’m sharing cuisine, lifestyle, or daily experiences, my objective is for the audience to become fully engaged with what I’m sharing, since I’ve always liked telling stories through the lens and creating emotive content.
As far as my professional journey goes, it has been extremely slow and self-driven, without a concrete path, which I have achieved through experimenting and learning everything on my own–filming, editing, learning how to create a unique style of content and promote it through social media, while at the same time being at school. This journey has definitely not been easy, especially during some particularly hard moments, but those moments have made me more resilient and reminded me of my initial passion.
One of the most important things I have learned is that growth is usually not linear. It is easy to gauge how you are doing compared to others on the Internet. However, I have come to realize that consistency, candor, and drive are far more valuable than following trends.
More than anything, I want people to know that my brand and story are rooted in genuine passion and self-expression. I never want my content to feel disconnected or purely performative. I hope the work I create encourages others to romanticize everyday moments, explore new experiences, and feel inspired to express themselves creatively without being held back by fear or perfectionism.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If someone I knew came to visit me for a week, I would create an itinerary involving good food, coffee spots, and fun daytime or late-night adventures.
To start with food, my absolute favorite place to have late nights is Ozen Sushi for their all-you-can-eat sushi until 2 AM. I also really like Sona Fusion Kitchen, which is open until 1 AM, and is another nice place to spend quality leisure time with delicious food.
In terms of drinks, I recommend visiting Auria Coffee and Solid Coffee Roasters because I really like the atmosphere, which is both cozy and productive. Here I can enjoy my coffee, talk for a while, and get some work done if necessary.
And finally, another great place to visit is Laguna Beach. This is arguably one of the most beautiful towns in Southern California, thanks to its stunning coastal views, artsy vibe, boutiques and shops, and generally relaxing atmosphere. The aspect I like most about this town is strolling along the beach.
What I love most about Southern California is that some of the best memories come from the simplest moments — spontaneous late-night food trips, coffee runs, beach sunsets, and discovering hidden spots with friends. Those experiences are what make the area feel exciting and special to me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thank you to everyone who has ever supported me in my journey—to those quietly cheering me on, and more importantly, to those who have always been outspoken in their support. Content creation can feel solitary, but growth is rarely something achieved alone. Each small act of kindness, each share, comment, and encouragement has helped me stay motivated to pursue what I am passionate about.
A special thanks to those closest to me, who kept believing in me even when I lacked confidence in myself. Your support made me unafraid enough to keep creating, experimenting, and putting myself out there creatively. It is immensely rewarding to have people around you who are proud of your successes and cheer you up when times are tough, so thank you.
