We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelli Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelli, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe in authenticity. I wanted to create a psychotherapy practice that would not only help people but offer them someone genuine. If a person is coming into my office with vulnerabilities, the least I can do is be real too. I believe in hard work, dedication, and loyalty. Hopefully it shows up in my practice!

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve learned I need to explore, discover, and grow by trial and error. So my therapy practice took me a bit to arrive but by no accident. I know I needed to do a lot of careers before I settled into this one. I always had this pull/push between between the creative and the altruistic. I did a lot of work in acting/hosting and writing to fulfill my creative side and then did teaching and other helping professions to fulfill my compassionate and nurturing side. I believe as I felt more connected to who I and accepted the challenges in my life, I felt more called to focus on helping others. That led me to open up my private practice.

What sets me apart is my ability to balance compassion with honesty. I strive to create a non-judgmental, supportive space while also offering practical, skills-based tools that clients can use in their everyday lives. My goal is not for clients to rely on me long-term, but to truly help them help themselves – building insight, confidence, and emotional resilience they can carry forward.

I’ve been fortunate that my career progression has been relatively smooth. Some personal challenges along the way helped me develop perspective, empathy, and strong coping skills which ultimately made me a more effective professional. That perspective also informed my writing; I authored a best-selling book, which later led me to write “Love Hacks: Simple Solutions to Your Most Common Relationship Issues”, further grounding my professional work in real-world insight.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
LA is an absolutely incredible place to visit. My idea of showing a best friend the city isn’t spending a week chasing velvet ropes or sitting in traffic to photograph tourist attractions. I’d want her to experience the version of LA that I love: beautiful scenery, incredible food, interesting neighborhoods, a little glamour, wellness, culture and plenty of time to actually talk and enjoy each other. So there would be hiking at Runyon Canyon or Malibu, followed by healthy food in Santa Monica or an amazing rooftop bar (Elephante), and maybe massages at a wellness spa or Koreatown for a scrub.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My two sons Remy and London first and foremost. They remind me to always keep going no matter what! I would also credit my therapist colleagues. Not only professionally do I feel aligned, but personally as well.
