We had the good fortune of connecting with Bridgett Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bridgett, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always been artistic and somewhat creative. However I was a late bloomer in choosing a artistic life/career. After selling Real Estate for more than 18yrs, I had hit a wall. I wasn’t happy and I was drinking my problems away… I wanted something more. After getting sober I began making natural products to help with my parents aches and pains. As I created products, I started to become excited and joyful again.. I knew I had something special and it changed my life from that point on. My parents loved my products and so did their friends. Shortly after that Big Momma’s Legacy was created…

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am Bridgette Davis, future CEO, Cannabis game changer and creator of Big Momma’s Legacy. What I hope to accomplish here is to enable you to know me beyond the “weed”. I want to share with you the background that gives my life purpose and inspires me to dedicate my life’s work to healing in the senior community. A daughter, granddaughter, friend, entrepreneur, realtor, survivor and healer, I celebrate my heritage as a Black woman with keen intuition and wit. Life-changing experiences have deepened my commitment to healing. I shudder to think of my 20-year battle with alcoholism, aggravated by a 20-year abusive relationship. But both have given me challenges and lessons—and they have deepened my wisdom as well. Two DUIs and close brushes with death became powerful life lessons, and whatever losses I endured over those years have been surpassed by far greater gains. Once I took active responsibility for changing my life’s direction, all the upheavals and reversals in my life turned into powerful influences. They have shaped me into the woman I am today: My journey with Cannabis has deep roots in a family heritage devoted to love and herbal healing. Our family had always kept all of Big Momma’s Recipes for healing pain and various ailments. When I decided to stop drinking for 30 days, I knew I needed something to help ease all the pain from the addiction. I had been smoking pot for partying, but I never considered the possibility that it could heal me as well. I began to experiment with the plant, mixing it first with oils, then with some of Big Momma’s recipes. First, I soaked it in oils before learning other techniques, like creating a special healing mixture that combined it with apple cider vinegar and honey. Once I began to learn about tinctures, I first struggled with the fact that I had to use alcohol to create them. This challenged ne to face the demon—again–but releasing all demons of the past enabled me to see my healing work in a fresh new way. Both my business and my product were born out of the work of healing myself on the journey to sobriety. I am passionate about using the lessons from my own journey to help people, helping people and bringing new information that shifts their perception, just as I had to shift my own. My mom, a nurse, was a key factor in my decision to stop drinking. She believes strongly that we will revolutionize the way that older people see “medicine” with Big Momma’s Legacy. I enjoy exposing our “seasoned citizens” to healthy new ways of living that elevate them to higher frequencies, and I am excited about the possibility of using my unique gifts to help them to heal and grow.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friend comes to visit we start off with a delicious breakfast from Inglewood’s landmark Serving Spoon. The atmosphere is a vibe in itself! Famous for delish Soul Food breakfast. After breakfast we would run over to Malik bookstore for some brain food and culture appropriate goodies. Such a lovely neighborhood bookstore with hard to find books as well as household items for sale. After the bookstore it’s time for the self care ritual of our girl weekend. Next stop we’re headed to Moyabodycare in Torrance. This lovely center offers yoni steams, Colon Hydrotherapy and more. The owner is amazing and truly is a gem to the community. The moment you walk in your greeted with a smile and made to feel at ease. Lastly, we would have to stop by The Feather Place in downtown LA. Their showroom is breathtaking, Absolutely one of my most favorite places. The selection of beautiful sexy feathers always gets my creative energy flowing!
