Meet Inbal Claudio: Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Inbal Claudio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Inbal, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When I started GOLDWICK, I was single and didn’t have any kids. Over the last 3 years, I got married, moved across the country, had a baby and have one more on the way. I used to eat, sleep and breath GOLDWICK, but as my life changed, I had to alter how I did business as well. I had to cut down on trade shows that would take me away from home for more than a day, I could only make candles when my husband was home, or when my daughter was napping or down for the night, and I couldn’t be as active on social media throughout the day. I’ve learned how to adjust my business to a more online-based company, and having less time for the business made me more efficient with the time I did have.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always been a work-horse, usually having two or three jobs at a time. Looking back, I’m thankful for all of them because they gave me the experience I needed and gave me lessons on how to run a business (and how not to run a business). Making sure to use my platform to teach people about the importance of clean, non-toxic, all natural candles has been an added bonus. It’s something that not enough people know about. Starting a business has been incredibly difficult, yet so rewarding! Having repeat customers, getting love on social media, receiving texts and emails from happy customers is what it’s all about. I infuse all my candles with real gold, so when people realize that (that didn’t know about it before), the reaction is amazing. It definitely sets me apart from other candles, and my customers love it!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Where do I even begin?! If it’s in the summer, check out a concert and have a beach picnic at the Santa Monica Pier on Thursday nights. Head to the Griffith Observatory on Saturday morning and spend a couple hours hiking the trails there, then head down the hill to Stamp for a delicious meal. Check out the boardwalk in Venice, then scope out the amazing shops and restaurants on Abbot Kinney Blvd. Head to Malibu Farms for wine tasting and safari animals. You have to go eat some Israeli food at Ta-eem Grill on Melrose, then head to Hollywood and check out the Walk of Fame.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Bryan. I wouldn’t be able to be as successful as I am without his support, both at home and in my business.
