We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Omari and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
When outsiders step into the art of acting they should be aware that it takes hours of inner work and effort to get to the level amongst the best. Actors have to allow themselves to be vulnerable and transparent to explore dark places and emotions that need to be released in any given moment. The industry is tough and is not easy for everyone, and to be one of the best, you have to work harder than the best. Go for it, and live in the moment truthfully.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I want the world to know that I am a champion of faith and perseverance. No matter the failures I’ve gone through in life or rejection, I continue to press forward with my goal in mind. I hope to inspire other creatives and artists to keep believing in themselves when they are surrounded by thoughts self-doubt, and any form of negativity. I wouldn’t have made strides to achieving success in the entertainment industry if i was quick to give up and I feel that with trails and tribulations, it breeds character and strength within you. I stay focused on the vision of something greater for myself and I am proud to grow into that version of myself that a child would to look up to. I am going to continue to make strides to be the best I can be, for those who can’t do it for themselves.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love walking down Hollywood, seeing the people and the stars on the walk of fame is very iconic. I love to go to the beaches so anywhere from Newport Beach to Malibu are nice areas to grab food and relax in the sun. I’m a big amusement park fan so Six Flags would be a place to have fun as well as DisneyLand to enjoy the joys of life. Rodeo Drive is a nice area to shop and visit with elegance, and I think someone visiting should go there at least once. I love soul food so Mom’s Haus in Van Nuys is a really good place to grab a Louisiana style cuisine lunch or dinner.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to thank the late Jane Kelly from the Actors Workshop Of South Florida who was one of my first acting teachers. Michael Gi from the Acting School of South Florida. Jeff Sanders, who provided me opportunities to work on multiple films in the beginning of my career. Traci D. my mother, who is an amazing director and first AD that allowed me to get my start into film with her award winning short film “Benjamin”, along with other productions she Assistant Directed. I thank Welder Santos for supporting my acting career in South Florida to find opportunities with Miami Talent Casting. I want to thank Leila Djansi and Thada Catalon for accepting me onto their films which provided me opportunities to work on in Los Angeles and Houston. I will continue to thank those who support me generously along my path towards success and to those who I fail to mention, I thank you for always supporting me.
