We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Bowers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brian, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting Precision Facility Group was about taking control of our own destiny. My colleagues and I had a great run at our former company for 20 years. We avoided starting our own company because “we had it pretty good”. But as happens with most jobs when you aren’t in control, the environment started changing. Ownership began slowly squeezing commissions yearly to a point where we were tremendously undervalued. Starting our own firm was what needed to be done to gain control of our financial future and build an environment that we, and people like us, wanted to be associated with.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our team started and is building Precision Facility Group to be an elite Workplace Services and Logistics provider to the corporate, retail, hospitality and healthcare industries. Our industry has historically been held down by traditional brick and mortar moving company thought process. Years ago we saw the Commercial Real Estate industry trending to an outsource model and we built PFG to support that trend. No other firm in the country has the expertise in providing a national and global solution to office moving, furniture installation, office furniture, retail store logistics, hospitality logistics, healthcare logistics and warehousing. It takes tremendous technology and a loyal network of partners, built over many years to provide an identical project delivery model anywhere in the world. It was through many mistakes and bad decisions that we have evolved PFG to the business model it is now. We used our past experiences to drive our company to be a refuge for top performers, a trusted partner to clients, and a cherished customer to our service centers.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in Scottsdale, there is a myriad of things to do, eat and experience. I would have my friend plan that trip for anytime from mid January to early April. At any point during that time, we would be attending Barrett Jackson, in a corporate box at the 16th Hole of the Phoenix Open, Spring training games or a five star resort pool. Cocktails during a sunny afternoon in Old Town Scottsdale cant be beat. Dinners nightly at fantastic restaurants such at Mastros City Hall, The Monarch Cafe, Toca Madera or just great tacos at Loco Patron. Don’t miss the smoked scallops for happy hour at Buck & Rider either.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
His name is Jeff Ankenbauer. We met in 1999 when I moved from Seattle to Cincinnati. He was a top producer in our industry and a brilliant business mind. In my first few years of business development, I had never been around any true Top Producers. Jeff’s very direct but energetic approach to business changed my entire way of thinking. Without really knowing it at the time, i had stumbled in to the ultimate mentor in our industry.
