Meet Cameron Kude: Founder of Cafablanca

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Kude and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cameron, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is the only reason I have a career. Some risks will pay off big and other risks will blow up in your face, but if you honor your vision it will always end up worth your time.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Had to select ‘other’ because my work transcends category. It’s personal. It’s professional. It’s political. It’s artistic. If there is any one reason I’ve had success, it’s because I managed to fuse my passions into my day job. Love how you spend your time, and if you don’t, do your best anyway because you never know when a seemingly random skill set can be applied to help you realize a dream. For me, that was coffee. It turned into a literal vehicle that is getting me where I want to be.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I grew up in Long Beach, but I only moved back to Southern California last fall after 12 years of traversing the west coast. With the shut down I haven’t gotten a proper chance to explore myself; I’d make a better tour guide on a 101 road trip.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve gotta give it up to my friend Henry Springall, who built our mobile espresso bar and took a big risk himself by allowing us to use it. My partner Juan Eduardo has been my rock throughout this journey and a wonderful co-collaborator with Cafablanca. And of course, my mom, Hi mom!
