We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexey Poblete and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexey, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I was always drawn to music and art! Growing up, my parents would often keep the radio on and streamed music channels on TV; so when I was five and saw a drummer playing on a kids’ show, I instantly knew that I wanted to pursue music. Nearly the same thing happened with my art career; I had grown up watching anime and also felt the urge to learn how to draw, to animate, and to visually put my ideas out there, while I had music to convey my creativity through sound and through performance. Music and art is a major part of culture, as well as a fundamental way in which we connect with one another and with ourselves. We can all transform reality, we all have artistic and creative ability, but in this day and age – due to expectations, standards, the lack of time and space, there’s a certain type of pressure and restriction on freedom when it comes to choosing an art career. However, I believe that no matter what – nothing’s more important than to follow your passion. Pursuing a music and art career is difficult, as is any other career, but eventually my passion for this creative career has also evolved into one where I want to be able to inspire anyone of any age to explore the limitless boundaries of imagination and use it to better the world – whether it’d be using music to heal, using abstract art to connect those who feel as though they don’t fit in with most people, spreading good vibes for those who need it most, or simply serving as a way to help a person connect deeper with oneself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a 17 year old female drummer, rapper, and a graphic artist! I’m proud to say that in my ten-year music journey, I’ve had the opportunity to perform with Patti LaBelle, Stevie Wonder, Arnel Pineda of Journey, performing for and being a part of Ellen DeGeneres’ girl empowerment campaign with Gap Kids, touring in the States and in the Philippines, guesting and playing for over fifty bands, and being featured in commercials for Apple, Disney, Nickelodeon, and Chobani. As for art, I’ve drawn and commissioned album covers, my own merchandise designs, had my original art featured in local galleries, and drawing “web-toons” as welll! I’ve just began my new artist journey as a rapper and a songwriter, but I have just released my debut single “COWORKERS,” where I wrote my song; directed, filmed, and edited my music video, and have also drawn my own single cover and merchandise designs. I’m thankful for all of the people I’ve met and those who’ve supported me throughout my career. Without their encouragement and their support, I wouldn’t be where I am today in my career and as a person. It was definitely challenging getting to where I’m at now, and I know that there are more obstacles that I’ll need to conquer ahead. There were many times where I was very close to throwing the towel in – whether it’d be the pressure I had to endure as a child, the feeling of loneliness, the times where I felt I was never good enough, or the constant loss of self-identity; as I grew older and learned to shift my perspective, I became extremely grateful for all the challenges I had went through. Not only did it make me stronger, but it also taught me that everything is necessary for self-growth. When times were tough, I made it through and the power of will has taught me that my heart encouraged me to follow my passion for a reason. I’ve learnt to find the light during the times when all seems dark and negative. No matter what, I’m grateful for everything, because everything happens for a reason and that means whatever happens, I will use it to better myself, to learn from it, and to grow from it. If any, I want my story and journey to serve as encouragement to those who want to follow their passion but are hesitant in pursuing it. It doesn’t matter what your age is, where you’re from, what your culture is, what your skill-set may be; everyone is capable of doing anything. All the struggles and obstacles a person will go through is necessary for self-growth and evolution; what’s important is to value your passions and ideas, because no matter how difficult an idea may be to pull off, or how different – it’s new ideas that can change the world.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Las Vegas as a whole city is an amazing place to visit. The strip, especially at night time when the sky is dark and the streetlights illuminate the scenery, is a beautiful place to walk around! The city never sleeps, it’s constantly bustling with activity. There’s the Fremont Street where there are street shops, zip-lining, and great local restaurants. For thrill-seekers, there is an Adventured-dome indoor theme park and the Stratosphere tower offers the highest thrill rides. Then, when there comes a time where you need to just replenish energy and to bring out your inner peace, Red Rock Canyon is the perfect place to hike and to be one with nature.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Growing up as a home-schooled kid that worked more often than played, I’m forever grateful for my supporters who have watched my drum covers, found me through commercials, came to my live performances, and have followed me throughout my music and art journey. All of my supporters have basically followed my life’s journey, because music and art is my life, and have watched me grow. I treasure each and every one of them; I strive to continue improving and to give back to those who’ve helped me become who I am today. With my newest music journey where I have embraced my songwriting, my new artist brand, and creative ability, I want to thank Bruce “Automatic,” Ebony Vanderveer, and InRage Entertainment for believing in my capabilities, for giving me artistic freedom, for valuing my input, and encouraging me to step into my own powers.
