We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Castilone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success in my business is my mindset without a doubt! I’ve noticed that when I’m worried or anxious, caught up in the small details or the things I don’t have (lack), things do not flow as easily in my business – or my life! But when I’m doing the work to create a positive, supportive and compassionate mindset, I’m able to see things for what they really are, not for the story that my mind makes up about them. In addition, something that I notice many entrepreneurs (including myself) struggle with is money and feeling like they don’t deserve to make good money for their work. It’s so easy to focus on what we DON’T want (to lose clients, to lose the sale, to not meet our income goals, etc.) – it’s how our brains have been trained. But for me, the biggest shifts happen when I’m working on my thoughts and beliefs about money and focusing on what I DO want: wealth, abundance, joy. We are all innately worthy of everything we desire in this life! And I now know that my worth as a human isn’t tied to the amount of money I make (or anything else external). This shift in perspective has changed everything for me! That’s why I am a coach, because I know firsthand how important it is for our thoughts and beliefs to be aligned with what we want – that’s how we make it all happen!

What should our readers know about your business?
I started out as a health coach and was helping people figure out how to eat and exercise to support their bodies. That evolved over time as I worked with more and more people and got further into my own healing journey. I realized that the issues that my clients were having were not really about the food. So, I switched gears into being a Food Freedom coach focused on emotional eating – the reasons behind why they were turning to food. As I continued working with people in this new capacity, I realized the root is even deeper – we forgot how to love ourselves. This is not something we are taught. In fact, we’re pretty much taught the opposite! So I made it my mission to help as many people as I can remember how to love themselves and their bodies, and create lives they are excited to live. Now I am a Self Love Coach and Breathwork Facilitator. I teach my clients how to shift negative thought patterns, release limiting beliefs and get out of the heads and into the body. I incorporate breathwork into my coaching programs and also lead private and group sessions both in person and over Zoom.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
In the South Bay, I love: – Taking a walk or bike ride down the strand from Manhattan Beach to Redondo Beach. Stopping for a bite at The Greenbelt on Hermosa Pier. – My favorite acai bowls are from either Paradise Bowls (Hermosa + Manhattan) or Natureba Brazillian Juice Bar in N Redondo – For quick but delicious and healthy food, I really love Rabano on the corner of PCH and Artesia! – Another favorite sport for healthy, unique food is The Source Cafe on Pier Ave in Hermosa – I love the beach and you really can’t go wrong anywhere in Hermosa or Manhattan! – For more outdoor fun, there’s also the Greenbelt, which is a wood chip trail that runs from Hermosa to Manhattan – If you’re into crystals and things like I am, Soothe Your Soul and Earth’s Elements are two of my favorite stores in Hermosa – The Riviera Village in S Redondo is also a really cute place to explore – lots of restaurants, bars, shopping and more!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to say, having a supportive, loving and genuinely interested partner is one of the main things that allows me the ability to keep going. My partner, Matt, has always been my #1 fan and biggest supporter throughout this wild ride. He’s here for me when things feel tough and always wants to celebrate my wins, no matter how small. I feel so unbelievably lucky to have him in my life! I’m also grateful for the coaches and friends who have supported me through out this journey so far. Each of them has made a massive impact on my life. I truly believe that we all need support and that what we need will always be presented to us in divine timing.
