We had the good fortune of connecting with Bonnie Dolan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bonnie, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Honesty and genuine! Both Joe and I believe the most important thing is to be honesty and genuine. We live our lives by those principles. Our SANDERASE cloth was designed with those goals in mind. It needs to work and needs to do what it is suppose to. SANDERASE was originally designed to solve a problem Joe and I have a large family composed of children, grandchildren, and pets, SANDERASE was designed to make our lives easier and solve a very simple problem. Leave the sand, whether at the beach, playground, golf course, hiking camping or at the dog park. It just works! Bonnie Dolan co-owner SANDERASE.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have always been interested in solving problems and figuring out how things work. Joe and I have always agreed simpler is better. Good design doesn’t need to be complicated and expensive. The real challenge for us is using our time to create useful and long lasting designs that can transcend time and become timeless. Not everything needs to be purchased every year. Simple means easy to use, inexpensive, and durable. SANDERASE does just that.. it’s simple to use, works wet or dry, has multiple uses, light and easy to carry.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s, an easy one…. It helps living in such a wonderful place Definitely the beach or should I say beaches there are so many Let start at home; Laguna Beach than head south to Dana Point then to San Clemente and dinner at Sonny’s. Then continue south to Carlsbad and then to Encinitas, Breakfast at the Encinitas Cafe and a walk on Moonlight Beach. Then to Del Mar and South to La Jolla and on to Mission Bay. Perhaps a trip to the zoo in San Diego to see the fauna and flora. Phew I need a rest. The Hotel del Coronado and the lovely beach…Let’s head back up north. First stop Corona Del Mar and Rose’s Cafe. Next Balboa and Newport beaches and piers. And let’s not forget trip to the Wedge before moving on to Huntington Beach and pier. North to Seal Beach and a quick stop for Pizza at Slice of NY. Best ny style pizza I have found here on the west coast. I guess we can stop at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach to enjoy the fishies before we go to visit the haunted Queen Mary. Oh and what trip to SoCal would be complete without a visit to the land the mouse built.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Unsung hero’s especially now. We all talk about our frontline hero’s. This shoutout is for all the moms at home now wearing so many hats. Teacher, cook, recreational coordinator, etc. Being a mom is not an easy job on a good day. Now it requires great skill and patients.. Way to go Mom’s everywhere!
