We had the good fortune of connecting with Dayna Gilchrist and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dayna, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Passion. As Steve Jobs famously said, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” I am fortunate to love what I do but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been obstacles and struggles along the way. Take the current state of the world right now, the events world has been put on hold. Thankfully, it is my passion that keeps me going. I live by the motto – EAT, SLEEP, HYPE REPEAT. Being passionate is built into our core values. As an organization centered around people, it is our team’s passion for the work we do every day that sets us apart from our competitors. Our clients come to us time and time again, because of the service we provide to them, our relentless pursuit to do good and our determination to find ways to improve everyday. Our enthusiastic and positive approach to the work at hand has led us to be successful and maintain a strong reputation in the industry.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business, my first “baby”, is The Hype! Agency. We are a nationwide event staffing and execution agency. Sounds like a mouthful, but basically we provide talent (we call them brand ambassadors) to our clients to promote their products and services in the market. To break it down further… ever get a protein bar from someone at an event or signed up for a freebie at a sporting event? Those were probably Hype! Brand Ambassadors. We bring our client’s ideas to life and we bring products and services directly to the consumer so you can taste it, touch it, feel it, and see it first hand. As a company, corporate culture and core values are important to our organization as a whole. Even as a small business, we have created systems and processes internally to reward our employees, provide unique benefits, encourage each other, and win! We are a family and a close-knit group. The number one thing that sets us apart from others in the industry is our hunger. This is also what I am most proud of. As I look at Hype today, I see a team that is truly excited about the agency, Hype!’s clients and what we do. Our team is dedicated to making our clients’ programs a success each and every time. Our agency has been awarded the BEST OF STAFFING award by Career Builder five times in a row. This is a direct result of the work our team does and how we have seen by the talent that works for us! I am so happy where the business is. We have the most incredible employees and clients and I love walking through that door every day. I found the importance of work/life balance to enjoy time with my family (my husband, Stu and two boys, Jackson & Cole) and getting in a good workout. Thirteen years after founding the agency, I never stopped giving Hype! everything I have, and Hype! is now an industry leader. The Hype! Agency continues to be one of the top execution and staffing partners in the experiential industry, working with some of the largest brands and agencies in the U.S. and worldwide. We have been named Inc 5000 fastest-growing, privately held companies in America and named in the top 20 in NH!

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Our office is in an area of LA that I love, Redondo Beach! If I was only visiting the area for a short time, I would definitely suggest staying in the South Bay area/Beach Cities. There is plenty to do from hanging at the beach, renting and riding a beach cruiser bicycle down the strand, and grabbing one of my favorite sandwiches, “The Long Board” at Ashley’s deli in Hermosa!

Shoutout to my team. Each and everyone of them make Hype! the powerhouse it is today! I am thankful for all of their hard work and dedication.
