Decision Makers Series: Important Decisions

The Decision Makers Series is one of our staff’s favorite because decision making is a topic that so many of us have studied deeply.

The single most important decision I have made that propels me forward in my own business every single day is the conscious decision to not have a Plan B. I didn’t want to have something that I could fall back to if “things didn’t work out.” I believe your Plan A works out if you continue to focus your energy on the overall vision. I have an abundance mindset, which has proven to be crucial in creating the life that I desire. I’ve always been a person who dreams big ideas and then follows through even when other people don’t see path to that vision. I was a music educator for many years before starting my pop production house and artist consultancy business. I maintained my artistry through recording albums of original music and at the same time creating my own curriculum for the work I did with children from the ages of 4 to 14. I approach most everything I do in my life with an entrepreneurial mindset. Read more>>

One of the most important decisions I’ve made has been to accept that I don’t have to do or figure everything out on my own. I guess the fact of traveling a lot for my studies highly contributed to the success of my professional business (I studied in the Netherlands, in Belgium and in the US). Studying in many different places was a great way for me to forge meaningful friendship with musicians I still collaborate with after many years. Former professors and classmates still call me for concerts, masterclasses and teaching gigs in every part of the world. I am very thankful for that. Read more>>

The most important decision I’ve made that contributed to my success is following my heart. Passion is what drives us, motivates us, and gives us the determination to keep going, even when faced with obstacles. I was able to connect with others who shared the same interests and create a community of like-minded individuals. This not only helped me grow my audience, but also opened up doors for collaboration, networking, and opportunities that I never would have found otherwise. Following my passion has not only brought me success in my career, but has also brought me immense joy and fulfillment in my life. It’s truly the key to unlocking your true potential and living a life of purpose and meaning. Read more>>

Who I surround myself with, within my business and personal life. I want people who lift me up and also call me out when needed. Community has been vital to my success and the longevity of the yoga studio. The SweatBox has always strived to be a diverse and inclusive community. This diversity has guided my decisions during pandemic closures and BLM protests, as well as kept us afloat while we were closed for 6 months during 2020. Read more>>
