Decision Makers Series: Important Decisions


The Decision Makers Series is one of our staff’s favorite because decision making is a topic that so many of us have studied deeply.

I was raised in a home where everyone needed to work and everyone did. My parents are hard workers and I saw them succeed in the workforce from an ordinary employee to supervisor positions and work their way to the top. For me and many other artists, the most important decision was to pursue art. I’ve made that choice multiple times, as it’s an easy decision to make, but it is a hard option to stick to. I’m not sure deciding to work for myself was a decision – its more of the normal enforced state of play as an actor. I’d love someone to come along and put me in their company or TV show and just give me a weekly wage. One of the most important decisions I made was sending in a mix to Skibadee when he asked for submissions on his Breakfast At Skibadee’s show. At the time, I was just starting out in the music industry, unsure of myself, and didn’t feel like I was going to be noticed anytime soon. My friend pushed me to go for it and send a mix in to him.
