Elena Neitsch | Artist & Writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Elena Neitsch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elena, do you think college was worth it?
In the words of Benjamin Franklin, ” An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I like to improvise and that’s why I picked an Abstraction. It is very liberating, it gives you freedom and opens horizons, as well as opens you to yourself. There are no rules! The journey is always exciting and challenging. Without the challenge we don’t grow. So I look at any challenge as an opportunity to be better, to do better and to learn something new. My latest obsession is ‘Live Art’ – this is where I paint an abstract painting on t-shirt. You can be sure that you’ll never see the same t-shirt – it is one of a kind! You can order them on my website or from my Instagram account.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Los Angeles, so a week is nearly not long enough to see everything that this city has to offer, but I’ll say this: The Griffith Observatory and The Getty Center opens up not only the greatest pieces of Art, history and science, but the most amazing views of LA! I would definitely recommend to visit these. I love old charm of LA which is changing rapidly, but you can still see in some places, such as: Sunset Tower Hotel and The Beverly Hills Hotel. And of course the iconic Mulholland Drive – the drive and the views are simply the best! You must visit Laugh Factory on Sunset Boulevard for a good comedy and Vibrato Grill Jazz for great live music! Laurel Hardware is where I met my husband, so every year we have a tradition of going there on the day that we met. Great food and atmosphere! Los Angeles is a great city and after living here for 7 years, I still feel like I have’t seen it all!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my husband for being the most inspiring, supportive and encouraging person!
