We had the good fortune of connecting with Elexis Ansley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elexis, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
One of my favorite affirmations is “All time is here and now”. We can’t go back to the past and the future isn’t here yet, so if we’re too busy regretting the past or worrying about the future we lose what’s right here and now. And that’s where our true power lies. Your life is this moment, always.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m most known for my Billboard-charting singles “One Life” and “Light Shower”. In addition to singing EDM and pop music I’m also really passionate about jazz, blues, and soul. I think what makes me stand out as an artist is my commitment to being unapologetically myself. I also like to weave elements of self love and positivity into my music and encourage my listeners to embrace community and oneness. In my opinion, anything in life worth achieving will have its challenges. And I’ve definitely had my fair share. But the struggles and bumps along the road only made me stronger and helped me prepare for the future without knowing it at the time. Losing over 100 pounds was definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life, but it has kept me humble and accepting of everyone’s differences in their own personal journeys.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m definitely a beach girl and so are most of my friends, so that would definitely be first on the list! We’d go shopping on Rodeo Drive and have dinner at Chateau Marmont. And I always love Santa Monica for people watching and roller blading.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
