My favorite quote is, “the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step,” by Lao Tzu. This is the quote that sparked me to start on my healing journey. After dealing with crushing anxiety, self-esteem issues, and a 10-year eating disorder, it was the quote that put things in perspective for me. As a perfectionist, I always strived to do my best, and I was inevitably hard on myself when I didn’t do as well as I thought I should. This quote reminded me to take things one step at a time.
