We had the good fortune of connecting with Jen Proctor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jen, so before we jump into specifics about your story and work, let’s start higher level. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned on my journey thus far, is to be real and vulnerable. There is no better way to make authentic relationships both personal and professional, than by simply by being YOU!
What should our readers know about your business?
Cultivated Entertainment is truly the culmination of my entire career history. Everything that we do and the services that we provide are based on the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and spaces where I saw a void/need. Cultivated Entertainment is a full service talent consulting firm. We do a variety of services all connected to talent- whether that be celebrity, influencer, expert, athlete, musician, etc. Some of the things we do on a daily basis include booking celebrity talent for tv shows, campaigns, events, etc., handling and negotiating influencer campaigns, casting hosts for shows or events, consulting with brands, networks or projects on the talent side and SO much more. We are true collaborators and work with all of our clients to come up with talent strategies and identify the best fit for whatever it is they are working on. Our company has the success we have mainly because of one thing, relationships. There is nothing more important than honest, vulnerable and consistent relationships across the board. We always come from a place of integrity and are true partners with our clients and colleagues on everything that we do.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Growing up in Southern California, I have a love for this region like no other. Anyone visiting Los Angeles needs to take in all its beauty- where else in the world are you just an hours drive to the mountains, ocean and desert? Perhaps my ALL TIME favorite Los Angeles activity, is a show at the Hollywood Bowl. Since I was a little girl, I have seen at least one show every season at the Bowl. There is no other venue like it in the world, and it doesn’t matter if you’re seeing a contemporary artist or the sympthony- the acoustics and the environment are true magic! One of my other favorite activities is to ride bikes on the boardwalk from Santa Monica to Venice and back. The people watching is incredible and you get an true sense of the diversity and vibrancy that is Los Angeles. I always love to stop in for a drink or a bite at the Whaler in Venice before heading back. Admittedly, my favorite restaurants and hot spots are constantly changing. I always love to try new things and try very hard to experience new places as often as I can. However, my two food must do’s for all visiting guests are always Sugarfish or Sushi Gen in Downtown LA. Los Angeles sushi is some of the best in world (in my opinion) AND of course everyone has to try In N Out! As a kid we would go once a week, it was our favorite, and 30 something years later, it still tastes the same!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are sooo many people who I attribute my success to. Most importantly, my Father was and continues to be one of the strongest people I know. He taught me how to stand up for what I believe in and that anything is possible. He also taught me a very important lesson, and that is not to make excuses. Bad things can and do happen to all of us, but never let those things hold you back.
