We had the good fortune of connecting with Johnny Quintanilla and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Johnny, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
You have to be comfortable & excited with your own company, environment & thoughts. Embrace your own emotions, that’s where your purest ideas are born. Fall in love with your own content don’t get too high on positive feedbacks. Always stay true to yourself because your not fooling anyone.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I find a lot of inspiration from different communities an meeting people that live in them. When I produce art I always try my best to believe in what I’m creating even if it’s not relevant or trendy. What excites me about art is the journey, the accomplishments but most important the struggles they are beautiful, it makes me feel alive. I got to where I am today by not giving up by believing in myself by pushing myself, making sacrifices canceling on friends & love ones. You have to be full time on your craft. Life is not fair it will constantly beat you up it’s important to be mentally strong an enjoy the moment. Nothing is easy in life, if you find your passion to be easy it might mean your not pushing yourself enough. If your not scared of your own goals you might have to considered adding new ones. Im native to Los Angeles this city raised me and molded me, I guess I would like to inspire future generations to believe in themselves & to not give up because happiness is in the struggles.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
