We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynique Browning and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lynique, what do you want people to remember about you?
I would like for my legacy to be remembered and known for being a super woman who built an entire empire and for providing platforms for other minority women. Someone who’s MAKING A DIFFERENCE in the world, hence that’s why they call me “The MAD Diva”! I would like for people to always remember me by being such a social butterfly, someone who is always wearing a smile, someone who’s heart is as good as gold, someone that they can always count on, someone who is loving, caring, resourceful, and just an all-around unique and rare individual. When they think of me I want them to always say that they’ve never had a friend like me!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Growing up I always got a little burnt out with repetition. For that reason I made it a point to become an all-around well-rounded individual. I’ve adapted many talents such as becoming a licensed aesthetician and make up artist, planning weddings and all other sorts of events, do you my time of residing in los Angeles/ Hollywood I have built an amazing circle of resources and connections that are vital to my network. I also think the fact that I am not scared to go for the gusto and really make it a point to go after what it is that I want also plays a big part in me being where I am today. I have had the opportunity to service so many different celebrities in such a short time of being in business and I think that that is a huge accomplishment for a small business owner. It is not always easy because a lot of times you will hear no but you cannot let that discourage you. You have to keep on pushing until you finally get a yes. One of the lessons I had to learn along the way, is that other people will try to duplicate the same thing that you’re doing, or they will try to compete with you. The best thing to do is to keep a tunnel vision and to keep thinking outside of the box and figure out how you can stand apart from the rest of everyone else who might be doing what you’re doing or something similar to what you’re doing. What I would like the world to know about my brand, is that once you come into contact with me I am guaranteed to make a difference. Hence that is why I have been nicknamed “The MAD Diva” and I created the acronym as well. I’ve built this brand by lending my hands and always putting hospitality and client services firsthand, because at the end of the day my business would not be where it is today had it have not been for my amazing supporters and clients who believe in my brand and business.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
We would definitely have to hear the coast and head towards Malibu for some amazing cocktails with a breathtaking view so I’m thinking Nobu! You can’t come to Cali without getting tacos, so since the sky is the limit, Sky’s Tacos it is. After or before we feed our face, we can go to the Culver City / Venice area and go hit the bike trail which will take us all the way to Santa Monica Pier with a lovely view along the route! Feeling a little like you need a taste of the Caribbean too, Wi Jammin’ Cafe for their amazing fruity pebbles, crunch berries or other assorted cereal flavored French toast, breakfast potatoes, eggs and chicken sausage patty’s! If you want to skip breakfast and jump into dinner or lunch then go with the oxtails, rice and peas and cabbage. We can go to the Hollywood and Highland area where the Hollywood Walk of Fame is, there’s the Grove if you’d like some outside mall action with a cool scenery, there’s the Beverly Center, Rodeo Drive is up the way of you feel like you want to splurge at all of the top high end boutiques mixed with some lovely photo oops and don’t worry, I keep my canon on me so I’m always there to capture any necessary moments. Some people have even made it a point to go visit the Crenshaw and Slauson area where Nipsey Hussle Grew up around and at, and lucky for me I’m connected in that aspect too so I even like to take my guest around there just to see the neighborhood and share some of the memories and more. I’m always in the loop when it comes to star studded celebrity events, red carpet events and more being that I’m connected to a few different publicist etc. in the hollywood and entertainment industry as well. See I told you I was resourceful didn’t I?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All of my motivation and efforts to become successful comes from within. I’m just a natural hard worker at heart and I got tired of hearing negativity and decided to change some of the stigmas and stereotypes that would sometimes hang over my head. It made me realize the things I didn’t want out of life and helped me to focus more on the things I do wish, hope and want for. I think a lot of my motivation comes from losing my father to lung cancer because I know how much it means to him to take care of my mother and to make her proud. At the end of the day I don’t want to disappoint neither one of them. So my mom and dad definitely gets some of the credit for molding me into the woman I am today. I get my southern hospitality from her for sure, and I get my stern strict and disciplined ways from my father. I couldn’t be the person I am now without them.
