We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Erskin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aaron, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
When thinking about what makes me happy, I tend to have numerous things rush through my head. One of the biggest things that makes me happy and drives my motivation is creating and connecting with like minded people. Ever since I was younger, my passion for photography has only gotten bigger as I lived through each day of my life. I love the process of connecting with new people, creating a concept, and then executing the ideas that were planned. Something about the whole process is so addicting and makes me feel like a real person. Being able to express my art and my emotions with people through images is so important that not many people realize. Photography brings people together to create unique images that have never been done before. Waking up everyday and thinking about what I need to do to push towards my goal of success is what makes me happy. Being able to work and be busy doing the things that I love is something that I will forever be grateful and thankful for.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing I am most proud about is the amount of work that I have produced since I started. I have constantly been shooting anything whenever I am out and about with my friends or my family. I am also very proud of how far I have come with photography. I think I have came along way with my style, my work ethic, and also my editing. The growth from when I first started shooting to now is significantly noticeable. Im also very excited about the future and how there is no telling of what it holds. I believe that the future can really only go one way if I am able to maintain the mindset that I am in right now. Pushing and having the drive to create content is what will make me successful and accomplish all the goals that I have. I have been through a lot to get where I am today professionally. I think a lot of the issues that I have ran into are a lot of mental barricades and insecurities Finding confidence and creativity can be difficult during tough times especially times like creative blocks. and insecure loops. Overcoming these issues have definitely not been easy what so ever. Although, by surrounding myself with the right people and reassuring myself about all the things that I have accomplished, I believe that I have overcome almost all of my creative blocks and insecurities. I think one lesson that I have during my journey is to never give up. Blessings and opportunities come in different time periods. If you give up on what you love, how are you ever going to experience the blessings and opportunities that are given to you? I believe that things always end on a good note and if things are good right now, then that means it is not the end. I want the world to know how passionate I am about photography and about the work that I do. This is literally my life. There is nothing else that I would rather be doing than capturing images.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area from out of town, I would definitely take them around Hollywood and Santa Monica area. I think driving around LA in the Hollywood area gives us a lot of options as to what they would want to do. We would be able to go stop at stores, go to the beach, and also just enjoy the city life. I think if we wanted to stop and get something quick I would take them to Shake Shack because I personally think their burgers are 10/10. I would also show them around Melrose to see some sneaker stores and streetwear stores. Another place that I would take them would be to play billiards in Korea town. Going out to LA and Korea town is something that I think is really fun because I always find a new spot every time I go.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people that deserve credit and recognition in my story. Way too many people to name. My closest friends from Santa Clarita have always been there to support my work and have given me confidence since the beginning to pursue my dreams and goals. The people that I met from east LA have also impacted my journey so incredibly strong that I would not be in the spot that I am today if I had never met any of them. Tyler, Tommy, Julia, Ivan, and also Mariah Casillas. Without any of these people, my passion for photography would be nowhere near where it is today. I am forever grateful for the people that I have met on this mission. Being able to meet all the people that I have, has been one of the biggest blessings that I have landed.
