We had the good fortune of connecting with ACQUANETTA WILLIAMS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ACQUANETTA, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My journey into entrepreneurship was born from a personal crisis that transformed into a meaningful ministry. From a very young age, I faced challenges that would shape my future in profound ways. Diagnosed with alopecia at the tender age of five, I navigated a world that, at the time, barely recognized or understood the condition. Growing up in the projects of South Central Los Angeles added layers of complexity to my early years. The environment was tough, and because alopecia was so unfamiliar to many, it made me a target for bullies. This relentless bullying caused me to miss numerous school days, as I was constantly in fear of peers attempting to pull off my wig.

These experiences, though harrowing, ignited a fire within me—a desire to help others and foster confidence in those who felt overshadowed by their circumstances. Missing out on many childhood joys because of my condition only deepened my resolve. Now, at 58, my passion to empower others is more intense than ever. Throughout my life, wigs have not just been accessories; they’ve been a crucial part of my identity. This lifelong experience has equipped me with unique insights into the challenges faced by those suffering from hair loss.

In my professional journey, I have met countless women who arrive at my doorstep feeling broken, overwhelmed by the impact of hair loss on their self-esteem. They often struggle not only with the emotional toll but also with practical concerns, like how to make their wigs look natural and feel comfortable in their skin. Through my businesses—a dedicated wig business and a welcoming salon—I offer more than just beauty solutions. I provide a sanctuary where women can rediscover their confidence, learn to embrace their beauty, and start healing from their invisible wounds.

Every wig I style, every consultation I give, is infused with my personal empathy and a deep understanding of what it feels like to walk in their shoes. By sharing my story and the lessons I’ve learned, I help others see that their current challenges do not define their future possibilities. My commitment extends beyond individual services to fostering a community where women can support each other, find resources, and build resilience. This mission, rooted in my own experiences and the desire to make a meaningful impact, drives everything I do in my businesses and as a purpose coach.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Oh, where do I start? where do I start? My journey hasn’t just been a career path—it’s been a full-on adventure, filled with plenty of ups and downs, but always driven by a deep passion and a lot of love.

What really sets me apart in the world of beauty and personal development is that my work is deeply personal. Having lived with alopecia since I was a little girl, I know firsthand the struggles that come with hair loss. This isn’t just a business for me; it’s a way to connect with others who are going through what I’ve been through, and it’s about giving them a piece of themselves back. Every wig I design, every style I create, I do it with the intention of making someone feel fully themselves again.

But my mission goes beyond beauty. I have a heart to coach women into discovering their purpose, helping them see themselves as valuable and necessary on this earth. I’m most proud of the impact I’ve been able to make—not just in selling a product, but in creating experiences that transform self-doubt into self-confidence. From opening my own salon to mentoring stylists and helping them start their own businesses, every step has been about empowerment, not just for me but for every woman who walks through my doors.

Was it easy? Absolutely not! There were plenty of challenges along the way, from figuring out the business side of things to handling the emotional stories of my clients. But you know what? Every challenge was a chance to learn. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to stay true to my values. Keeping faith, hope, and love at the center of what I do has helped me overcome any obstacle.

What I want the world to know about my brand and my story is that Divinely Designed House of Style isn’t just a name—it’s a statement. It’s about recognizing that beauty comes in all forms and that everyone deserves to feel beautiful and confident. Whether it’s through a stunning new wig, a coaching session, or just a heartfelt conversation, I’m here to help women shine from the inside out.

So, that’s a little about my art and my heart. It’s all about making a real difference, one beautiful soul at a time, guiding them to see their own light and strength.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shout out to my husband and my three children. They are my support and they give me a reason to continue to strive and live my passions. My Pastor, Pastor Julie Zaragosa that has mentored me for years, she was my confidant when I was single and held me accountable as a single woman of God. She gave me true teachings of God and she gave me a platform to be used by God.
