We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Scheffler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adam, what role has risk played in your life or career?
We each had to come to the collective realization that risk is what had gotten us to this point in the first place. Being an entrepreneur isn’t something that happens by pure chance. Instead of missing opportunities by dwelling on the possible negative effects our decisions could bring about, we embrace all possibilities and approach it with a healthy skepticism. We have found that when we are faced with a challenge that includes a big risk, we end up working harder, thinking bigger, and ultimately conquering any doubt that we may have had. It hasn’t failed us yet.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One of the core foundations here at Golden Supply & MFG. Co. has always been the art. My 2 partners and I, as well as our staff, all have roots in art. Whether it be design, or collage, interior decoration, or fashion design, these elements have always played a huge role in what we create for ourselves and others. We screen print, sew banners and pennants, cut and sew apparel, and also offer chainstitch embroidery. These skill sets have allowed us to work with some big name designers and create some truly incredible work. We’ve all tried many different mediums and these are what have stuck with us and allowed us to express ourselves. Whether making something for our own brand or making something for our clients, we can guarantee it is going to be great. The road to get where we are was definitely not easy and we never stop learning or pivoting. At this point in the journey it’s all about being self-aware. Knowing what works and what doesn’t and doing what’s necessary to reach next level. As owners, the 2019 pandemic made the career landscape different for each of us. We had our small businesses that we moonlit for some time. We saw the opportunity to combine our businesses into one powerhouse and offer goods and services that we never imagined. I’d like the world to know that you should never stop dreaming. An idea can take you anywhere you want to be, as long as you’re willing to work for it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Anyone who has supported us from the beginning or watched us grow. There are many people locally and all over the US who have seen what we’ve been making and love watching us create goods from scratch. Bringing some tried and true skills back from the dead and get involved in our community in the process. Our family, friends, and loved ones who helped out when they could and allowed us to work long hours and often weeks at a time. The positive impact that everyone has played will not be forgotten. It’s often what gets us through. We put our heads down with the blinders on and work until we can’t anymore. We don’t recognize the accomplishments. At the end of the day it’s everyone else that makes this worth doing.
