We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Sweeney and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
Living by example. I remind myself that my kids need love most of all and that the more I grow and develop myself the better. Whenever I put pressure on kids in any area, it doesn’t work out very well. When I talk with them, understand them and be their parent, they flourish. During COVID I have improved my own change management skills to help support them in the constant pivot needed.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a coach, trainer and sales leader with Rise Up For you, I love developing others. I enjoy the confidence, leadership and business development that we get to give to our clients and community. Our brand is one of impact, strategy and a place where people come first. We believe in the potential of humanity. We are excited about collaboration this coming year. I like to use the word “pivot” to describe our company. Throughout the past year, we have grown, pivoted and made a difference for so many professionals worldwide. We create experiences for business owners and leaders inside a company to have more confidence, improve their company culture and communication skills.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Whittier, CA and spend a lot of my leisure time in Brea and surrounding cities. My husband and I love healthy, gluten-free food options and a good coffee is a always a plus. Green Tomato Grill in Brea is a place I would highly recommend stopping at for some great GF or Vegan food options. I would also go check out Tri-City park or Craig park. Watching ducks, running outside for some great vitamin D and riding bikes make these parks amazing for couples and families. Downtown Brea is great to walk around and be sure to go to Cha Cha’s for amazing nachos and margaritas! There’s even a fun fountain outside that makes for a great picture spot! If you’re craving incredible meats, sides and desserts, heading over to Urban Plates in the Whole Foods shopping center is fun. We have even taken the food to go and had a great picnic at one of the parks! If COVID wasn’t restricting indoor fun, make sure to go to the Brea Improv in Downtown and eat dinner at The Old Brea Chop House beforehand where the food is top notch. We met the owners at their ribbon cutting via the amazing Brea Chamber. Quite the power couple!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Nada, our CEO at Rise Up For You, has been an amazing mentor and leader for me during this COVID time. Her insight, coaching and leadership have been an incredible blessing to me and my family.
