We had the good fortune of connecting with Adriana Najera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adriana, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
What is for you, won’t go past you. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and what is meant for you, will be for you. #Manifestation
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Every now and then, I reflect on the lowest point in my life, (change to career) which turned out to be the most fulfilling chapter – quitting my full-time job, with just a dream of having my own agency. I remember that nervous ache in my stomach, of feeling so lost in what I wanted to do, and if I was even good enough to stay afloat as a freelancer. That same nervous feeling is also what fueled me. I knew I couldn’t just sit and wonder, I had to take the risk to find out. I worked 2 jobs, while trying to get ACN PR off the ground. Bloomingdales and fit modeling on the side. I hustled until I felt that ACN PR reached an established enough place for me to quit. That turned out to be a short 6 months later. The journey has been anything, but easy. There have been just as many good days, as bad days, but through it all I have remained hungry to learn more and challenge myself to take on more projects. At the beginning of the pandemic, almost all of our clients either terminated or froze their contracts. I remember feeling so lost and scared for the future of my agency, as we were just getting started prior to this. With the responsibilities of rent, car payment, and college debt, I had to find a way to pivot, and that I did! I think we all saw an increase in influencer marketing and home content, which in turn increased the demand in paid partnerships. With the push and encouragement of some of my closest friends who are also some very familiar influencer faces (shout out @Casualallure and @imlvh), I was inspired to introduce a new Talent Management division under ACN PR. Two things to take away from this, is that most of the time our greatest motivation and inspiration comes from those in our closest circles, who see the potential in us that we often overlook. Two, if you have an idea/dream, the best thing to do is to just dive in and JUST TRY. That’s when the real magic happens!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
