We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrien Prevost and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrien, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
From the my earliest memories I remember my parents and sister playing music around me. I remember joining them later on. That was very natural, and I didn’t know anything else so music and gathering of artist communities always have been organic to me.
When I had to choose a path, as an adult, it felt very natural to head in the creative field

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I look back on how it all started (professionally) it’s really all about people and encounters. I was just arriving from Paris when I randomly met a music supervisor at my then day job. We became friend and started to collaborate on trailers he was gathering music for. After our first collaboration for an indie movie, he called and asked if I wanted to write music for Wonder Wheel, the upcoming Woody Allen movie he was working on. We did the campaign together and that got me to quit my job and focus full time on writing music.
Trailers were my way in. I love writing music for trailers. It’s fast. It’s BIG. No time for questions. And working on beautiful pictures is also a great perk!
Meanwhile I was also starting to write music for live Theatre. A lot of the folks I was working with were deep in puppet work (crafting them and puppeteering). I worked closely with this community that led me to score a few short films produced by Heather Henson (daughter of Jim Henson).
I received an Ovation award in 2019 for my score of Kaidan Project, with the Rogues theatre company. That brought more work my way (and it was awesome getting some recognition for a project that really was challenging / amazing).
From there I started to reconnect with folks in France. I scored my first feature documentary in 2019 “Vers la Rencontre”. Feature length felt like a great medium; more time to write. More themes to accompany characters. I loved it!
In 2020, I co-scored (with my friend Nino Vella) “How I became a superhero”, a Warner Bros. french feature. Superhero movies are awesome as you can write big and use the full power of the orchestra. It was awesome!
Then a few TV shows for FX studios, OCS (French network) and recently RZR, a show created by David Bianchi that got an Emmy nomination for Mena Suvari (we were all very proud).
In 2020 as well I was working with The Hettema Group to score an immersive installation in Macau for which we got a Muse Platinum award. I’ve always loved writing music for experiential projects. It pushes the story telling further by incorporating the audience.
Recently I also scored Disney Treasure with Little Cinema. A long form for Disney Imagineering that present their new cruise line. Invited by my very good friend Matt Hill. It was a dream!!
Leading to 2024, when I scored The Last Ranger, a short shot in South Africa produced here in the US.
Later on, John Powell was invited by the producers to collaborate and it ended up being a collaborative score. We got an Oscar Nomination in 2025 for Best Live Action Short! Very proud!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh! That’s tough! So many places, friends, shows etc
I would take them to eat some tacos at Angel tacos on eagle rock blvd. Head to the hollywood bowl for some classical outdoor concert. We would probably head to Zebulon for a night cap.
My favorite museum is Norton Simon in Pasadena so definitely a stop. I’d take them to Manhattan beach for a swim!
And probably a gateway in the mountains.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many people to give a shoutout to… My mentor and great friend, Craig Richey for the guidance throughout my first scoring ventures. My friends for the support through the years. My therapist!! And of course all of the directors, producers, music supervisors, editors and production companies that trusted me along the way
