We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrienne Reeves and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrienne, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Being a “risk-taker” is almost the first word I use to describe myself. For me, life is all about taking risks. How can I know how something will end up or be a success if I don’t put myself out there. It’s true you miss 100 percent of the shots that you don’t take. Working in the music business and influencing culture has always stemmed from my earlier experiences as a child. Growing up, I was never afraid to try something new or put myself out there. Once I became an adult, I knew I was born to do the things that I have accomplished.. because honestly, who else will do it? I have learned that I have a special purpose and if I don’t take the risk to get it done in the first place, then not only is that haltering me reaching my greatest potential, but also holding up someone else’s blessings that are dependent on me and tied into my workings. If you have a goal or a dream, I always say to just do it. Sounds profound and yet, it’s just that simple. Being a young woman of many talents and skills I learned over time that no one can do the things I can, and THAT is my real power.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. What sets me apart from others is my drive and willingness to succeed. One of my sole purposes in life is to change the lives’ of others. I believe we are set on this Earth for others – to help them achieve their dreams. I’m proud to say I”m doing this each day through a variety of ways, wether it’s TV placements, helping an artist get a feature with someone they admire, or just simply being their for a friend. I’m excited for what 2022 holds, as 222 is my angel number!

How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy?
I got to where I am today by having goals and believing in myself to get them done. I try my best to surround myself with like-minded individuals and those who are more wise and wealthy than I. It’s all about relationships and treating others how you want to be treated. Was it easy? No, but as long as you roll with the punches and learn that problems can come from any angle, then you’ll be fine.

If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
I overcome most challenges through prayer. If anytime I can’t get through something on my own then I ask for help. Other ways I cope is by doing things that I love like walking in the park or going roller skating. I also love to travel and eat so anytime that opportunity arrises, I’m there! Don’t dwell on the past – you simply can’t change it. For me, if it’s out of my control or will mess up my peace then I simply move on.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
Two core lessons I’ve learned along the way to to never burn bridges. I always right my wrongs even if it may not be all my fault. You never know how you may need someone in the future. And people will always remember how you made them feel! Another lesson is to never take things personal. I feel like sometimes we can be so in our heads about what the next person thinks about us. In reality, we’re all dealing with our own issues, and 9 times out of 10, someone’s actions don’t have anything to do with YOU. Not taking things personal makes the ride a lot smoother and eases your mind so much more. For me it allows me to focus on the bigger picture, because my journey is so much bigger than me!

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I want the world to know a new era is upon us. And we’re the gatekeepers, breadwinners, innovators of it all. To change the world, we must always move fearlessly! Never be afraid to put yourself out there or be your own boss! I guarantee you someone is waiting.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friend is in town the first place we’re going is the Atlanta bel line. To me the most amazing creatives are hanging out there wether they are riding a skateboard, playing the piano, having a picnic, or taking their little ones to get ice cream! After, we are hitting Boogalou Lounge and Restaurant – they have the best Salmon, garlic spinach, and mac and cheese (thank me later). Not to mention, the hookah and drinks are top tier. And the vibe, to absolutely live for! After a few drinks and some good, we would probably end the night at the Painted Pin to have a few fun games of bowling (I am very competitive!) For the rest of the week, it’s a must to hit my all-time favorite place in Atlanta – Botanical Gardens. If you enjoy the outdoors, plants, and taking photos then you will have the time of your life. Plus they have an open bar on Thursdays, which is adult night!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
So many incredible people have made an impact in my journey and career. First, my parents have always supported me in all that I do and for that, I’m forever grateful. Being in Atlanta, I’m gracious to be immersed in a community that’s all about collaboration. Both my mentors Tami Latrell and Keith Smith have taught me all I know about the music business and publishing space. Everyone in my circle all support me and give me guidance and the extra push I need when I’m feeling down. Another incredible human is Adonis Thrax, who not only has given me countless opportunities, but also keeps it real with me on how I can improve as a person and professional. I’m thankful for every person that I crossed paths with for choosing me to be a part of their journey!
