We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrienne Stratton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrienne, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I have been a risk taker all of my life, and wouldn’t have had it any other way. Being naturally curious and adventurous, pushing the envelope, exploring the not so conventional areas, and striving for success in all of my endeavors has been the major theme of my life.
Early in my professional career I was driven for the promotion, the higher salary, the prestige, and recognition by my peers and corporate leadership. I chased job opportunities, and changed jobs often, frequently risking it all in various sales positions. My life changed in my early 30’s when I entered rehab for Addiction issues. In essence as a young adult my risk taking was more compulsive and ego driven then. So as I matured, I learned to love myself, and my world view changed’ I recognized my gift of Intuition and later Mediumship. the desire to help others grew stronger. Today, I continue to take risk but differently now, more calculated. Staying open, becoming vulnerable and letting people know who I really am has benefited me personally and in business. I strongly believe our world needs greater connection with each other and taking big risk has opened many doors. in the helping and healing fields that I work in. Conscious transformation requires courage and great risk taking. Finding and embracing my personal truth has provide me with the understanding of my life’s purpose to be of service to other’s in their health and healing.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I love working at my business endeavors, the Healing / Helping field of Spiritual Consulting , blended with my ongoing work in Behavioral Health (Substance Abuse and Mental Health treatment) fills my heart and lifts my soul daily. I have no greater joy than sitting with clients and watching as they make emotional and spiritual connections with their own purpose in life. I get to watch others Wake Up, and help along the way! My life’s story is my life’s work.
Daily I provide help, education, and guidance for the family or individual looking for treatment from the devastation of Substance Abuse. I might add that it has become imperative to know who is providing ethical and legal treatment programming. This field has changed radically and there are businesses that are only concerned about their ROI. I know this after 30+ years in the field. My other work is also heart felt. I frequently am called to connect with people who are experiencing a different kind of disconnect from self or their spiritual path. These clients are hoping for an energetic healing or resolution of past or present issues. I read their energy and am able to channel messages of love and compassion from “the other side”.
In my personal life, I have had to overcome many challenges and hardships, and truly suffered from low self worth and self loathing stemming from Shame. I spent my adolescents hiding out, being terribly afraid of judgement and rejection by others. I knew you wouldn’t like me if you knew who I was. I grew up in the 60’s as a bi-racial kid and knew what it was like to be called the “N” word, and or a “dirty Indian”.. While my parents were good, and kind the hurt was too deep. Alcohol and Drugs played a large role for 20 years which kept me numb, anti-social, and almost dead. It wasn’t until rehab in 1985 that my life began to change, and from the trauma and drug use I forged a new life, a new career, and a sense of real purpose. I learned to love myself, take emotional risk, and develop my spiritual abilities.
The lessons have been many. One re-invention after the next, learning to become less selfish and more selfless. The development of my spiritual life was nothing new. I had many experiences, many lessons over the course of my life, but still fought the fears of rejection by others, (if you really knew me). At some point, and with help, the light stayed on! My connection to the spirit world grew stronger and stronger, as if being pushed to bring it forward to help others connect. I have succeeded in business whether it’s Intuitive Readings, helping clients enter into Drug/Alcohol Rehab, or discussing Supplements for an improved physical condition, because helping others find themselves is my life’s purpose.
