We had the good fortune of connecting with AFSOON GHAZVINIAN and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi AFSOON, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My calling in life is to help busy professional women maintain their healthy and vitality, and dare I say, substantially boost their energy and performance as they transition to midlife.
I received my education as a Doctor of Pharmacy at Temple University in PA, while mothering two teenagers. I experienced the intensity of student life on the side of raising a family, with all the responsibilities that we as women hold on our shoulders.
After graduation, I had a privilege to work as a senior pharmacist in Singapore. And this beautiful city became my second home for over a decade. And there, as a hard working single mother, I so closely felt the struggles that professional women go through in their everyday lives, yet keeping their image with the smile of their face as they literally drag themselves out of bed and to work at times.
On top of that, for me, a very challenging perimenopause caused sleepless nights, intense night sweats, depression, weight gain and anxiety. Through the struggle to reclaim my health, I learned about functional and integrative medicine, completely different from my conventional outlook as a healthcare professional. This was a new way of seeing every symptom as a calling for changes in lifestyle and for self-care as well as looking for the root cause of the symptoms to arrive at a sustainable solution for life.
With these life-changing information that I diligently incorporated in my life, I had outstanding results and the same was true for hundreds of patients and clients that I guided and worked with.
I decided to start my business and share my science-backed methodology that was created and designed to fit the lives of busy professional women.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Through the years, I have been in awe of the amazing women leaders that I have had the privilege of working with. They are brilliant at what they do, however, they need guidance when it comes to practical and sustainable lifestyle changes that affects their wellbeing in the next almost half of their lives. And this is where I come in. I work with my clients in one on one basis if needed for a more tailored plan, also, group accelerated sessions are always a favorite and brings the joy of being a part of a supportive community.
I offer a blend of biohacking solutions that had been set aside for men through the last decade, and I have modified them to fit the needs of women in midlife and beyond. These are effective strategies from intermittent fasting with specific protocols for women, building muscle mass and an amazing body composition in short daily practices and powerful strategies to handle stress and aid with recovery.
It had been a long and challenging road as with any other creative journey in life. However, the transformation that I see in my clients, makes every single day of work, a pleasure.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
