We had the good fortune of connecting with Aky and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aky, what role has risk played in your life or career?

Risk-taking has always been a fundamental aspect of my life and career. I’ve come to see risk not as something to be avoided, but rather as an opportunity for growth and innovation. Throughout my journey, I’ve embraced a do-it-yourself attitude, especially when things didn’t go as planned. Instead of waiting for opportunities to come my way, I’ve taken the initiative to create my own lane.

Launching ANGVIS was a prime example of this mindset. It was a risk, no doubt, but it was also an opportunity to challenge the status quo of the music industry and create a platform where good music matters the most. The satisfaction of seeing talented producers from all over the world shine through ANGVIS has been immensely rewarding.

Similarly, pursuing a music career has been a journey filled with risks and rewards. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of seeing people enjoy my music and being moved by the emotions it evokes. Whether it’s producing music in the studio or DJing for a live audience, the fun and joy I experience in those moments are unparalleled.

For me, it’s essential that what I do is fun and fulfilling. After all, isn’t that what truly matters? The ability to have fun while working, to find joy and passion in what I do—there’s nothing cooler than that. So, yes, risk-taking has been a central theme in my life, but it’s also been the catalyst for some of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had along the way.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a music producer and DJ, my artistry is defined by a fusion of diverse influences and a commitment to crafting immersive experiences through sound. What sets me apart is my dedication to pushing boundaries and exploring new sonic territories, always striving to create music that resonates on a deep emotional level with listeners.

What excites me the most is the ability to connect with audiences on a visceral level through music. Whether it’s crafting beats in the studio or delivering performances on stage, I thrive on the energy and connection that the music creates.

My journey to where I am today professionally has been anything but easy. Like many artists, I’ve faced my fair share of challenges and setbacks along the way. However, each obstacle has been an opportunity for growth and learning.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the importance of resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity. Every setback has taught me to dig deeper, to push harder, and to never lose sight of my vision and passion for music.

Above all, I want the world to know that my music and my story are rooted in authenticity, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. I believe in the transformative power of music to inspire, uplift, and unite people from all walks of life. Through my art, I strive to create special moments that resonate with audiences long after the music fades.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Given my love for good food and immersive experiences, here’s a glimpse of what I’d have in mind:

We’d kick off our trip with a dinner at Uovo, honestly it’s my top pick for authentic Italian cuisine in LA. As an Italian myself, I’m quite picky about Italian food abroad, but Uovo never disappoints.

I would also take a visit to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). I’d love to show my friend some of my favourite Basquiat paintings and explore the diverse art collections the museum has to offer.

Since water is my element, a day in Malibu hitting the waves and bodyboarding would be on the agenda for sure. There’s something about the ocean that always leaves me feeling inspired.

Of course, we couldn’t miss catching the sunset at the Santa Monica Pier. It’s one of those key LA experiences that never gets old, California sunsets are always insanely beautiful.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like first and foremost to dedicate this shoutout to my family for always supporting me throughout my journey, i also would like to give a shoutout to my friend and mentor Braveboy and to the ANGVIS team for believing in the vision.
