We had the good fortune of connecting with Alan Fleming and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alan, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
With regards to videography, this felt like a very organic process. A lot of hard work, long days and nights. But I don’t believe I ever felt like when things were slow or hard for me that I needed to give up. I’m not sure if I know how to throw in the towel.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a full time videographer and co- owner of the counterfeit wedding which creates styled weddings for content for up and coming photographers/videographers, as well as other venders and creatives in the wedding industry.

I love the whole video process and definitely being able to deliver and capture special moments or concepts for clients.

This whole journey has definitely not been easy. In fact I would have to say it’s been scary. I had to decide whether I was going to continue to moonlight being a videographer and continue with my regular job, or take that very uncertain leap . I have to say it was definitely worth the risk

I would have to say my brand is about my clients. I want to know their story, whatever that may be, from engagements, weddings, proposals. To music videos, short stories, even reels! I want to be able to convey that story the best way I can with video.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well if my friend was from out of town I would definitely have to take them to down town LA at least for a day!

I kind of go all over, mostly outdoors whenever I can. But a few of my favorite places would be cream tangerine records in Costa Mesa, lake arrowhead brewing company in lake arrowhead CA. I’m a huge in and out fan so that is definitely a must.

Most likely their would be a visit to the beach. With luck quad skating would be in there as well! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh my. I would 100 percent not be in this industry, nor would I have the success I have seen if it weren’t for my wife. She’s definitely inspired me to go after what I thought was not possible. So a very special shout out to my wife tiffany. Thank you for believing I could do this.
