Meet Alecia Beckford-Stewart | Sports Chiropractor & Strength Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alecia Beckford-Stewart and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alecia, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success is being able to smile and enjoy everyday that I help someone with a problem or provide them the ability to do something they didn’t think was possible. Success is working because you want to, not because you have to. Success is also having the ability to be creative, have a balance of work and play and most importantly acquire knowledge and understanding as you pursue your passions.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has been a journey of passion, perseverance, and purpose. From a young age, I dreamed big—I wanted to become both an Olympian and a doctor. Those aspirations may have seemed ambitious for a little girl, but they were rooted in a belief that with hard work and a positive attitude, anything is possible.
Attending the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign on a full track scholarship was a pivotal step in making those dreams a reality. As a student-athlete, I took both roles seriously, prioritizing academic excellence while dedicating myself to my sport. Balancing coursework, exams, practice, travel, and community involvement was challenging, but it taught me discipline, time management, and resilience.
After earning my degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science with a minor in Chemistry, I had the privilege of competing on the world stage with Athletics Canada and Bobsleigh Canada. These experiences not only fueled my love for sports but also deepened my appreciation for the human body—its vulnerabilities and its incredible ability to recover and adapt.
While competing on the World Cup and North America circuits, I was inspired by the sports chiropractors who kept us athletes in peak condition. Their expertise and care helped me through my own injuries and sparked a realization: I could combine my love for movement, health, and helping others by becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic. That realization led me to Palmer College of Chiropractic, where I graduated as salutatorian in 2021, fulfilling a lifelong goal.
Today, as Dr. Beckford-Stewart, I am proud to bring my passion and knowledge to every patient I work with at Kinetix365. Our integrative approach—combining joint manipulation, myofascial therapy, acupuncture, exercise therapy, and curated nutrition—sets us apart. We don’t just treat pain; we empower our patients with tools to prevent injuries, enhance performance, and achieve their goals.
What I want the world to know is that injury prevention is key to both performance and longevity. Whether I’m working with elite athletes or weekend warriors, my goal is to help them rediscover movement, overcome challenges, and dominate their goals. My journey has taught me that the road to success is rarely easy, but with perseverance and purpose, the results are always worth it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A week long trip with a bestie in town would be custom to the LA they want to see. Some of my friends are extremely active like me and would enjoy a sporting event, hike at Runyon, dance class at Playground or might come into town just to run a road race with me. Whereas others might want a trip to Target, a cool rooftop like EP/LP and to chill at Venice Beach.
The common trend will always be food. I meal prep 90% of the time but when friends are in town-the food list comes in handy. I’ll always suggest a brunch at Breakfast Republic or Met Her at the Bar or EAT. Tacos from Leo’s Truck or Tu Madre. Good music and vibe at The District, fried chicken from Gus’s. Soul food from Dulan’s. Visit to Randy’s donuts, The Dunes and Hilltop Cafe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Finding mentorship and guidance from Dr. Tarek Adra has been pivotal in my success in Los Angeles. He is the most interesting, dynamic, charismatic and intelligent practitioner. Or as many of our patients at Kinetix365 will say—he is a magician. With over 20 years of experience as a Doctor of Chiropractic, Acupuncture and previously working as a Pharmacist—Dr. Adra has a wealth of knowledge that I’ve been blessed and honoured to pick his brain and grow as a clinician with a multiverse vantage point with every case that presents itself.
