We had the good fortune of connecting with Alessandra Aguirre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alessandra, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
At the end of my career I would love to be touring around the world, being a recording artist and releasing music! I really want to work on having my own small record label to help emerging artists reach their goals.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am really proud in what I have achieved and what I am working towards. I am currently working with a team that supports my music and my career. They help me with promoting my music, giving concerts, attending festivals and networking events for me to meet people that are already in the industry. It has not been easy being were I am right now, it has definitely taken a lot of patience and a lot of time. Sometimes I thought it would be easier or less stressing to just go to business school and have a normal job, but I could never leave music behind. My battles are with mental health and the constant pressure I put into my artistry, it can get really tiring. What I do to overcome this, is trying to clear my mind and forget about social media and my music for a couple of days to come back stronger. I have learned a lot of lessons along the way such as, never giving it. I know it sounds super cliche, but it is actually true. I worked on focusing on my music and doing what I love and trying not to compare myself with others. When I compared myself with other artists in social media, I always repeat to myself “their success is not your loss”. I am not competing against anyone else, I am just competing with myself. I want the world to know that I want people to relate with my story and my lyrics, and my songs.Let people know that they are not alone and that music can be a safe space to feel everything they want to feel without feeling judged.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would definitely take them for a walk around the Boston Common and the Charles River. I would also take them to Little Italy in the North End and get them some pastries! A place I would never forget, would have to be The Beehive, which is a really cool underground/speakeasy style restaurant that has live music! It has such a cool vibe! The Elizabeth Stuart Garden Museum is a MUST! Such a wonderful and unique place to admire art with a very cool story behind.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my Shoutout to my family; My mum, my dad, my brother and my sister. Without them, I wouldn’t be were I am right now. They have always encouraged me into pursuing music as a career and they believe in me. They always remind me that success comes if you do what you are good at, with love, patience and organization. They are my pillars in life.
