We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Caiola and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alex, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For a long time, I felt unaligned in my career. I knew something was off but I couldn’t fix it with each new role I took. It was around then that I realized I had psychic abilities and became more invested in the intuitive arts of Tarot and Astrology. When it finally clicked that my passion could be a career, albeit a non-traditional one, and I started to lay the groundwork for starting High Priestess of Brooklyn.
I’m someone who can engage in analysis paralysis, so once I had my business idea, which was to be an intuitive guide as High Priestess of Brooklyn, I set out to brand it and beta test with friends and family. I just had to start to get momentum enough to hold myself accountable to keep going, even when it got difficult.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As I mentioned, I discovered my psychic gifts in my late twenties and in the middle of my corporate life. So I know what it feels like to wake up and have no connection to the life I built for myself. In what’s known as a Saturn return, a cosmic rug pulled from underneath us, I grappled with numerous Earth-shattering changes. TL;DR it was the best thing that ever happened to me because I ended up with a loving partner, a beautiful home, and a career I’m passionate about: enter High Priestess of Brooklyn (meta alert!)
Yet, I can’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. I experienced this great awakening slowly, through the help of my Soul team, including Psychic healer Mike Fort and Evolutionary Astrologer, Kristin Fontana. All the while, coaching people through their own career milestones as a Director of Talent Acquisition. I also learned to apply manifestation methods to bring great multitudes of love and joy into my life after only accepting the bare minimum. I realize now that the journey is so important because it gave me the tools to help others.
Full circle: I now help others find their path through the times when the view is anything but clear.
I use Astrology to gain a sense of who my clients are and where they’re going in this lifetime. Through psychic Tarot, we strategize on their best methods for working through current energy patterns. Our ultimate goal is to illuminate their soul’s purpose. Life is so much more fulfilling when you realize where you have the possibility to go.
I also have a fulsome partnership with Erica Martinez-Close on the Priestesses Prescribe Podcast, a self-discovery podcast based in mystical wellness. We came together as Priestesses from different backgrounds and modalities with a common mission: to empower and support people on their intuitive journey. We aim to prepare our community for the energy of the new and full moons every month while expanding on themes for higher-self alignment.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t live in LA but some of my best friends do! I really love Venice and frequented Great White when I was there. Dying to visit the Proper Hotel in Santa Monica because of Kelly Wearstler’s designs. Also really love the east side because it reminds me of Brooklyn!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have an amazing family, partner, and group of friends who all contributed to my journey. One friend in particular, Amanda Santana, was with me for much of my early dreaming about my business and her encouragement was paramount at that crucial stage. I often think of her when I offer “spiritual cheerleading” to my coaching clients. Amanda is the OG Spiritual Cheerleader!
