We had the good fortune of connecting with Ali-Han Ibragimov and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ali-Han, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Studying The Greats: What’s a better place to learn than from the people that are masters of their craft? We’re so blessed to be living in an era where we have such easy, on-demand access to information, that almost anybody on this planet can damn near build a whole education course for themselves taught by the best of the best. Even though I never knew him personally, I always say that Kobe is like a mentor to me, because I’ve learned so much from listening to his interviews, documentaries, watching him play, listening to others talk about him, his philosophies, routines, habits, and so much more. Mamba Mentality has been like a manual to me. When I’m talking about studying the greats, I’m not only talking about individuals, I’m also talking about organizations. Apple, Disney & Nike are some of the companies I admire & study all the time. Studying the greats and understanding what it took for them to become the best and stand out has been crucial to my growth. Brutal Honesty: One of the most important things that I’ve learned is to always be brutally honest. If it means being brutally honest with myself, I try to not fall in love with whatever I’m working on so much that I don’t see the flaws and I’m not openminded when it comes to constructive criticism & feedback. If it means being brutally honest with others, I learned not to sugarcoat things & tell it how it is. A better result is almost always achieved through total transparency. But I also had to learn how to communicate my most honest thoughts to others without hurting their feelings – you gotta know how to marinate that fish right. Communication: In my opinion, the ability to communicate well is essential not only to success at your craft, but also key to a successful existence. At the end of the day, if your rap is strong, you can’t go wrong. I’ve stopped dealing with so many people in the past because of how poorly they communicated when we worked together. I also lost relationships with some good people because of how poorly I communicated with them. Good communication is indispensable for top notch results. Being in Love With What I Do: Committing to my passions was one of the best decisions of my life. Everything I do every single day, I do because I want to, not because I have to, and that makes everything so much more enjoyable, including the journey itself. I’m not impatient about my final destination, because I’m enjoying every little bit of progress, every victory & milestone on my way to it. That’s where the never-ending curiosity stems from. And since I’m really passionate about so many things, I’m really never not being productive. If I don’t feel like doing one thing, I can do another. If I don’t feel like doing another thing, then I could do the third, and so on and so on. That’s why I say life is beautiful.
What should our readers know about your business?
Last November, my partner Rashan & I have launched the first ever Filmmakers Streaming Service – MOORvision Network. Besides having the regular features of an SVOD streaming service, MOORvision Network provides resources for filmmakers and actors to receive film & TV show job opportunities and casting calls, submit projects for funding & distribution opportunities, brand projects & invest in projects, all while retaining complete ownership & creative control and getting paid per stream for the performance of their licensed content. We’re the only network out there that provides such complete package of services, and we have many more features planned for the future. Our goal is to embrace all creatives who trust their vision, and provide them with tools & assistance to bring it to life. The most exciting part about all this is hearing positive feedback from our target audience, people are being really supporting of what we’re doing! I get messages all the time from our subscribers, and they’re always showing love.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I got one breakfast spot you can never go wrong with – Bea Bea’s in Burbank is fire. They have the best breakfasts, great drinks. Just check them out, and thank me later.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God deserves the biggest shoutout. He’s been blessing me my whole life and I’d never be where I’m today without Him. My family – my parents & two sisters. I’ve been getting an incredible amount of support from them my whole life. They’ve always had my back and encouraged me to keep going after whatever insane goals I’ve set for myself, and have helped me in whichever possible to get closer to them. My lady, Alice Jean. I mean, she’s my backbone, my soulmate, my best friend… If I really elaborate on what she means to me, this whole thing would turn into a poetic book. I know for a fact that I wouldn’t be the man I am today if it wasn’t for her, she’s contributed to me as a human being, and me as a dreamer. Shoutout to God again for blessing me with this phenomenal human being. And my partner Rashan Allen. Me and him done been through so much. Besides being a great business partner, he became like a brother to me. We came out to LA around the same time, and have been back-to-back ever since. He’s the only person I’ve ever met who has the same audacity as me. Life is a team sport. I can’t honestly highlight one person without mentioning the others. I owe a great deal of who I am today to everyone mentioned above, they have all played an irreplaceable role in my life.
