We had the good fortune of connecting with Alice Aera and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alice, how do you think about risk?
Taking risk is very important and necessary in order to make your dreams come true. It can be scary but for me I always go back to my “why”, and that’s my love and deep passion for what I do. I try to let go of my attachment to the outcome more and just go for it. It takes courage but the more you do it it’s like a muscle you train the easier it gets. Just remain focused and listen to that calm inner voice it always knows what’s good for you.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Choosing the life I did, I realized stepping in it wouldn’t an easy road to take. And there’s no one who can tell you what to you kind of learn the hard way especially if you don’t come from a family who’s in music. You just need to have a lot of patience and faith and never stop working on yourself and your craft. And with time you will find people on the same journey as you who you can collaborate with and create magical things with. Internet definitely makes it a lot more easier these days to connect with people from all over the world. I would always look up producers and writers I admire and just send them demos in the Dm’s and most of the time that worked and that’s how I’ve been building and growing my network. Also keep sharing your gifts. Use social media (instagram, Youtube ect) and also Soundcloud is another good way to expanding your fanbase and let people hear what you’re about. And I would say don’t hold back. This is one of the hardest things I’m trying to let go of, because I’m very much so of a perfectionist and never think anything I make is good enough. But really the only person that’s holding you back is yourself so you got to surrender and share the gifts you’ve been given.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Santa Monica, beach walk or my favorite hiking spot in the Palisades with the most gorgeous view.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would want to thank the people who belief in me. The people who support my music, the fans and the creative geniuses which i have the pleasure to collaborate with: Benny Cassette, Sam Barsh and @zariazariazaria. We’ve been writing and working on my EP for the past few months which im super excited about!!
